What do you actually install.
Could you tell me exactly what is installed for WIndows?
I want to know if any services, shell extensions, task scheduling, etc are created. In other words what is put on my computer other than a stand-alone application? I've had some major problems in the past with apps that don't cleanly uninstall or use my computers resources badly.

Inappropriate?I don't think much besides the program itself, a folder in %appdata% a folder in %temp% a desktop icon and a start menu entry...
Sometimes the network drive can be a bit nasty and persist over sessions, so you might want to check that after uninstalling (cmd --> net use) but I think the major quirks with that have been already ironed out.
Services: Why should there be one? But... maybe a service wouldn't be such a bad idea, for a nogui-mode on Windows?
Shell-extensions: No, and I can't think of any "*.wuala" files that could provide useful information for anything. You do have a search engine, so something similar to Torrents is not needed and the wua.la page + client layout is just accessible via http.
Scheduled Tasks: I can't think of any use for _that_ - maybe limit traffic or something? Well, there arent currently any.
Etc: Well I guess Wuala requires Java (I already have it installed anyway so I can't check) so this might be something else that could clutter your system.
If you are worried about your system that much, take a closer look at http://communities.vmware.com/communi... <-->s beta...)!
I’m happy

WTF happened to the end of my reply? Might be related to the "<" ? -
Inappropriate? You can always use filemon & regmon from SysInternals to see what gets installed.
-
Inappropriate?stuff is being created in %programfiles%\caleido\*.*
there is nothing in the registry.
there is a folder/elements in the startmenu with wuala and wuala.lnk (folder and file)
thats all at my windows places.
ofcourse you might clean up your %temp% directory both systemvariable and uservariable

Inappropriate? Also some account information (I guess the login data) gets saved at C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\YOURUSERNAME\.wuala (or the english version of that :D )
-
Inappropriate?that would be "%userprofile%\.wuala\" to be dynamic for all client operating systems ever since nt4 or even earlier....
watch the "." (dot) infront of wuala. seems to be a *nix-like standard folder/pathname to me -
Inappropriate?afaik a dot means that the folder is hidden on *nix and *nux systems. Thanks for the %userprofile% hint, I knew that it existed but I just couldn't recall the name... I'm getting old...
-
Inappropriate?yeah the dot files are the "hidden" ones for normal ls output.
