When is space from deleted files available for re-use?
After filling up my 1GB of storage, I deleted most of the files, but the status bar still indicates "0.98 GB of 1GB used" and, in fact, I am not allowed to add more files; why?

Inappropriate?Normally, you should be able to reuse your space immediately. However, I've just found a bug that caused Wuala to not give you back the used space under certain circumstances. I'll let you know as soon as it is fixed.

Inappropriate?I've added a script to version 333 (PC) that checks whether the displayed storage usage is correct. If it detects inconsistencies, the storage usage will automatically be recalculated in the background. This might take a while and you need to sign out and in again to see changes. To see if there are inconsistencies with your account, you can compare the storage usage displayed in the status bar with the one displayed in the details pane when you select all your folders.

I've been running 333 for over two hours, and the space usage has not yet been corrected.

Inappropriate?"A while" means not longer than half an hour. However, it is necessary to sign out and sign in again to see the change.

Inappropriate?I am also having some problems with space display. Here is a snapshot of my wuala home:

If I select each folder individually and add up the size of the displayed space I have around 1.2 GB, which I think is correct.

There's only one thing wrong. My music folder has almost 2GB but when I select it it says only 1.10 GB -

@nmat: When selecting folders, the size displayed in the details pane only includes files for which Wuala already has the metadata in its cache. I'll add a '>' sign before the displayed number in the next version if there is more and Wuala didn't count every file. -

Inappropriate?I have the same Problem. Deleting ca. 1 GB Pictures from my holidays and let wuala run 1,5 days run. The Storage does not become freed.
I have wuala 143 Linux.

Inappropriate?Oho... i deleted 400 mb music and the filled barometer falled down from 1.4 GB to 1.1 gb. i think as wuala has hanged the space wasnt freed. now i have 100-200 mb in my account but wuala shows 1.1 gb.

Inappropriate?Same prob here. deleted 2 or 3 days ago 10 gb music and now i've got 5 gb music online but the 10 gb aren't still usable
summary:
got 15 gb
10 gb have been used 2 or 3 days ago, then all files were deleted
now i uploaded 5 gb again.
But the deleted files are still counted.
if i go to "my files" and press ctrl+a it shows me 5,4 gb
what shall i do now?

Inappropriate?Ctrl-a doesn't count group postings. Have you had a look at the group postings folder? Would that explain the difference?

same problem here. running v33 for OSX. it says: "2.2 GB of 6.1 GB used". well actually I have deleted all files so it should be 0 GB of 6.1 GB used (i am trading 5.1). I deleted all files 2 days ago and I have sign-in and on several times. I have switched off / on wuala several times as well.
please, help.

Inappropriate?@nmat: ctrl alt p doesnt seem to do anything. while if i try command alt p it filers "π" for search (it sounds really Kubrik style). I remind you I runs wuala on Mac OS X. please could you confirm what I have to do?
@bagelcat: I checked. I confirm I dont have any groups joined.

sorry for the stupid questions before. I asked google about ctrl+alt+p and I found it is a kind of keyboard shortcut to force server-side check of storage. I'll update you tomorrow hoping everything is fixed.

just to say now everything is fine. I wold suggest to define this issue as a faq. besides i'd like some other way faster and less-shortcut than ctrlaltp to fix this "storage amount" issue.
