Why do I have to keep back up files on my computer? Can I just delete them?
I only ask that because the folder with those files are getting bigger and bigger.

Inappropriate? As far as I understand, Wuala currently does the following:
You add File1 to Wuala (from your disk of course)
Wuala encrypts that file and stores it in it's backup folder
Wuala sends the parts of that file to the Wuala server (1st upload)
Wuala then sends the parts of that file to several other people who are trading/donating storage and stores them in their "Upload" folder
So you have:
File1 in Plaintext (Wuala needs it only once to encrypt it)
File1 encrypted in the backup folder (Maybe something goes wrong while doing the first upload, so it can reupload the file without having to rely on you that it even exists unencrypted on the same position)
File1 encrypted and distributed as blocks all over the Wuala network + Servers
I guess they will implement a button "soon" to delete backup files that are already enough distributed (no "Wartung"-Uploads) to ensure that you can access the data - this could be even better if the announced feature "anonymous distribution" is being added, since other that have your encrypted parts will also distribute them, if needed (I hope only if needed!) so in theory 1 or 2 complete uploads of your encrypted parts to the network should be enough to ensure enough distribution after some time.
I’m confident

Inappropriate? Thanks dude. I just hope Wuala implement this botton soon, cause my HD is getting full of back up files.

Inappropriate? After the next update, the local backup will be optional (so you can turn it off in the settings). That's our first steps towards anonymous maintenance as described in http://getsatisfaction.com/wuala/topi...
