Wuala, Filesystem Integration, and Ubuntu
I am attempting to use the filesystem integration provided by Wuala in Ubuntu, but am running into an issue. I've got the nfs share mounted, everything shows up ok, but if I'm wanting to add files to a playlist in my media player or run unison, it gets choked up with the many gigs worth of data I'm throwing at it. When I add just 13 songs to any media player, it only pulls in a couple then stops. It isn't able to pull all the songs.
I used the wuala guide on setting up the nfs share in my fstab. Here's the link I followed. http://wua.la/en/kb/4 I noticed the bottom mentioning Ubuntu and have wondered if that is part of my issue.

Only bypassing the portmapper does not work with ubuntu (at least with 7.10, I have to figure out if this is still an issue with 8.04). So this is only an issue if there is another NFS server running on your system. As you got the nfs share mounted, you have another problem.
What is the status of the nfs share after you try to pull in some songs? Is the file system integration still working or is it broken and you have to restart Wuala? Are the first few songs playable in your media player? -
Inappropriate?Well, I tried this same tactic on a different machine on a different (faster) network, still with ubuntu, and it ran perfectly. I believe it had to do with internet connection. Once I pulled 10 songs from a folder, only about 4 actually came over, the transfer would stop and any reference to that folder on the nfs share only showed those 4 songs. I'll see if I can't reproduce the problem when I'm back at that network.

Inappropriate?Unison or rsync both don't work with the filesystem integration feature.
It takes a few hours to even process the differences (even though there shouldn't be many at all) and it goes idle every couple minutes. Once it finally sees all the differences (many hours later) it doesn't allow for propagating changes. I've included a couple screenshots to show my errors. Thanks!

Inappropriate?How would this be a problem associated with Wuala and not all NFS shares? I've tried multiple times trying different tactics such as increasing my cache size, but I still get "input/output" errors. This is the last thing I'd really love to see Wuala work properly with!

I tried unison on my ubuntu laptop. One problem is, that unison tries to change file permissions. This is currently not supported by our implementation. Unfortunately this is not a problem I can solve right now, although it would be nice to be able to syncronize with unison (I didn't know this nice tool before, thanks :)).

Unison is great! One thing to note, I did use the "perms = 0" option within unison's profile system to disable the permission syncing, but I still run into a problem. It may have to do with the large number of files I'm trying to sync (approximately 40gb). -
Inappropriate?I'd be willing to use any kind of sync tool with Wuala..I really just want to have an easy way to backup my data to Wuala..Any working ideas?

Inappropriate?I noticed today that when I click and drag files into the Wuala java app, that replacing files that already exist cause the files to not copy correctly. If I delete the files on Wuala then move the files over, they work just fine. Could this be related to our syncing problem?
