wuala keeps crashing

wuala crashes after 5 seconds when i start it

what ive done

i installed a perfectly new ubuntu linux
i downloaded java 5 and 6 from sun and installed it

i tried out both java versions with both of them wuala crashes after few seconds

  Hi dutu,
  
  You need to activate SUN Java. You can do that with
  sudo update-alternatives --config java
  
  After that, it should work as expected.
  
  Furthermore, you can install SUN Java directly from the repositories, it is not necessary to download them manually. Use 'sudo apt-cache search sun java' to find the package names and install them with 'sudo apt-get install <package-name>'</package-name>

  I have the same/similar problem on Windows XP. It not only seems to happen on this particular PC but all the PCs I use. The client usually runs a few seconds and then crashes. As you can see, it is a quite recent SUN JVM as well.
  
  254MB is not enough to run the underlying database, obviously. Is there a way to tune the memory allocation?
  
  It's a bit of a problem because you lose your online status and storage. Right now, I can not use the service. Everything worked seemingly fine, until after one of the updates, after which this problem has persisted ever since.

  @Galac: it looks like some data in the local cache is corrupted. Wuala should run fine again if you delete the 'local2' folder that's in Wuala's 'Data' folder. However, this will also might cause pending uploads to fail. So if you have pending file uploads, you might need to reinsert them.

  I had a smiliar problem (assertionError)
  I deleted folder "local2" and now I got no more problems

  My wuala also crashes a few seconds after i log in. I already tried deleting the local 2 folder. i have 43 "unbestätigte änderungen" at start, but the counter lowers until 3 then wuala crashes with:

  Im getting really angry here..
  
  i tried various things, including renaming/deleting every wuala folder i could find (got me another wuala update, changed language and wiped out login screen) but after i type my username and password i still get those 43 unverified changes, wuala works through and bam shuts down with the previously mentioned error. i have another account and it works fine, file integration worked fine before (also tested without). it really has to do with one of the changes i made. how can i prevent wuala from loading the changes todo-list?

  Same/similar problem with Ubuntu 8.04
  
  Reinstalled wuala completly, downgraded wuala, reinstalled java, activeted every java version ive got on my system. After login it just crashes after a few seconds.
