Wuala uses 64 bit JRE when 32 bit one is also installed
When I have the same version of JREs installed on Vista64, one 32 bit, the other 64, the wuala.exe loader always tries to use the 64bit one, and then gives the message that it can't continue.
What can I do to get it to use the 32bit one by default, short of running it from the command line?
Why can Wuala not run in the 64bit JVM anyway? I think it should be smart enough to find the 32bit JRE automagically if both are installed.

Inappropriate?Java is an interesting animal, especially when the x64 is added to the mix.
It is hard to keep track of multiple installs, Sun doesn't always do what the say they are going to.
I guess they must have forgot the flip the switch to the "More Magic" position, I'll tell them to check the switch. -
Wondering if they should be checking HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment\<version></version> -
Inappropriate?Wuala uses the default JVM on Windows (XP and Vista).
-
And how does it "decide" the default. -
and how do you change the default -
Inappropriate?WORKAROUND FOR END USERS:
Using regedit.exe:
Modify HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment\1.6.0_15\RuntimeLib and Java_Home to point to the "Program Files (x86)" directory instead of the "Program Files" directory. Wuala will install properly.
SOLUTION FOR WUALA ENGINEERS:
Make your installer look for and use the values in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment\1.6.0_15" before the values in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment\1.6.0_15"
I’m glad

this solves the problem
-
But let your installer ask the User, if he want to make Java 32 to the default!!! some people need Java 64 as Default
(Not me personaly *smile*)
