WDCS has been involved in a campaign against this cruel hunt since they first founded almost 20 years ago.
From the WDCS website:
What can you do?
Please send a politely worded letter to the Faroese government and (copy it to the Danish Foreign Ministry) to express your protests about this hunt. The addresses are provided below. Please make the time to mail a letter, or send a fax, as it has more impact than an email.
We will not pretend that ending the Faroe Island’s drive hunts is simple. It is a long tradition of this remote and proud community that is proving hard to break. But traditions evolve over time and, rest assured, WDCS will not give up until drive hunting is consigned to the history books in the Faroe Islands.

Inappropriate? Thanks for your email and interest in dolphins.
We work on a broad range of threats to cetaceans (dolphins, river dolphins, whales and porpoises) across the globe with particular emphasis on bycatch (problems of incidental catch due to fisheries whereby an estimated 300,000 whales and dolphins are caught and killed each year).
We also have a number of projects around the world on the ground and engage with many international fora to mitigate a variety of threats to endangered species. These include unsustainable trade, unsustainable hunting and a variety of habitat and marine threats that affect migratory species.
We engage with CITES, IWC and CMS -information on all of these can be found on our species website.
I was unable to find out what you were specifically referring to on the website you provided, but I presume you are talking about the narwhal kills in Greenland?
Whichever hunt you are referring to, we agree that hunts of small cetaceans are in many cases a terrible problem, many of them are unsustainable, and none have legitimate benefits for conservation.
However, we do not work specifically on this issue on the ground in Greenland, and would refer you to WDCS, who works more concretely with small cetacean hunts worldwide.

aaa my brother have a friend who found a race bird in singapore,i told my brother to tell his friend to sent it to the zoo but the friend says it is his and he would sell it for money.should i report this??i am really confused!!! -
Inappropriate?Hi
Actually, I got the same e-mail as Luanne.
It is not in Greenland that it happened but on Faroe Islands which is part of Denmark.
Although, Faroe Islands are not part of the European Union and Denmark only has a limited responsibility of the Islands; Defense, foreign affairs and the legal system.
The dolphins are from the Cetacea species. I believe they are Long-finned and Short-finned Pilot Whales. I saw several pictures of them being killed on the coast of the Faroe Islands.
I just wanted to clarify that.
I have attached one photo.
Kind regards
Sanah

i'm shocked and deeply touched. Just gave friendly co-operation with Danish colleagues and puzzled how it goes in their civilized country. The World is becoming crazy!!! SOS !!. Soon in Batumi ( Black Sea city) will be restored dolphins' Acqua Park -the favourite place for all.
Such a great doze of cruelty is accumulated in teenagers soul? Why? They seem to have got all they need. Do they need blood? We, in Georgia well know what is blood. Never wish people in Denmark to explore it. -

Inappropriate? The WWF did not get it at all. I rcvd the same email w/photos of the massacre taking place on the Faroe Islands. How could they see these pictures and "assume" it was referring to narwhals in Greenland?
How frustrating is it to know that an organization dedicated the preservation of the planet and it's marine life cannot see the diff between a narwal and a pilot whale?
Who sits at the desk and replies to emails? A bored civil servant waiting for his/her pension? Sounds like it.
Makes you wonder if there is really any hope for the planet.

Being rude and taking your frustration out on WWF isn't going to do much to help the situation.

Perhaps take the time to read their site, rather than sitting back shooting off nasty remarks.

i feel just like you do, laura.
i just got the email and if being just a simple websurfer took me all the way to this place and to many others that talk about this horrible masacre then i don't see how those who HAVE the power AND meanings to do it, don't. i mean, greenpeace goes to where a voice needs to be heard!!
i don't know, i am just so shocked to see the images and so about to throw up that i don't know what else to say but.. are they stupid?? i didn't think there were still people like these monsters that want to show their mandhood in the world.
i am using the adreesses and emails and everything to send to all my contacts so, at least i don't stay here doing nothing for those poor dolphins. -

Inappropriate?Hi everyone,
As we stated on our reply above, we have not yet seen this email and were unable to find the information on the website provided. This is why it has been impossible for us to comment on this.
We referred to the massacre of narwhals on the east coast of Greenland because it was a similar sad event that happened recently.
If you have the email, please send it to us at questions@wwf.panda.org and we'll do our best to clarify the matter. -
I just looked up the Faroe Islands and it and Greenland are both part of Denmark... are we all talking about the same event? -
Inappropriate?Hi,
I also received the same e-mail (I'm from Perú)... and first I thought it was a scam... but i started looking up on the internet, and I found a petition site whose goal is to stop RISSO'S DOLPHIN massacre in FEROE, DENMARK. I think signing for this petition is not enough and we should do something about it. PLEASE WWF, i've seen you are also located in Denmark. Can't your office over there do something to stop this brutality? Please let us know as soon as you can!!! I'll really appreciate it.
Sincerely,
Rosanna

Inappropriate?Hi everyone
I have been emailing Jackie Janosi at WWF. Her latest reply stated that they don't have a direct campaign against this but that she'll forward my letter to their species program manager. If they do decide to start a campaign we can join there fight by being members of WWF Passport (membership is free). Maybe we can speed up the process if more people request action in this matter. Jackie's email address: questions@wwf.panda.org
Thanks for the petition site, I'll send it to all my friends and family and MAKE them sign!

Inappropriate?Hi luanne, I don't know the answer to this problem but I do know the joy we experience seeing these beautiful animals pass by our coast line, for months on end, twice a year.
I live on the mid north coast of NSW, Australia and every day, before winter we see these beautiful creatures, passing by to go north to have their babies and at the moment they are traveling south with their babies. W e can see this extraordinary site numerous times almost everyday at this time of the year and although we can see it everyday we all still get so excited about the site, that is every human being in our country who see's this wonderful sight.
So how can human being on the other side of the world be so opposite and ruthlessly kill these wonderful creatures.
The pictures I saw were disgusting, but we wouldn't call these dolpins they look more like whales. We also have the pleasure of seeing dolphins almost everyday.
I wonder if these cruel disgusting people saw how much we appreciate the sight of these wonderful animals playing with their babies just off our beaches would it change their behaviour. Probably not!
But if their is anything our community can do to help you stop this disgusting behaviour, please contact me. Wendy Bramble. wbramble@dodo.com.au. If I can get my hands on some photos of the whales frollicking off our beaches I will sent them to you.
Good luck and you would have the support of millions of people, living on the coast of Australia I am sure.
regards Wendy
I’m very sad, confused & frustrated

I completely agree. This week I was so lucky to actually be interacting with the dolphins but this afternoon I received the mail about the dolphin massacre and it broke my heart to see how heartless and cruel those people could be.
The entire episode is so disgusting and it is surprising that Denmark, being a country in Europe cannot do something to stop its people from such crime.
I hope WWF can do something to intervene in this serious matter. We are there to support but they need to be our voice. -
Inappropriate?I also received and signed this petition, Incredible Risso's Dolphin Massacre!
And I did some search on google, here is some video footage about this massacre taking place in Europe, in the 21st century:
Stop the dolphin massacre!!!
Dinamarca, una verguenza!!
And here is a video about Feroe islands and about this "quintessential part of their culture" (watch min. 5)

Inappropriate? This is very sad, people doing this and the thing that bother me the most is that the organizations that are suppose to safe the wild life the only thing the do is report – report – report and report that this is happening, taking pictures showed to the world and that is it. We need to take some action in this matter.
I’m frustrated

I recieved an email about puppies that are been skinned alive, theres a video attached that i refuse to watch, but does anyone know whats been done about this?? Our human race is so shameful, i hope people involved in such cruelty get whats coming to them!!! -
Inappropriate? When I first received the e-mail (Dinamarca, una verguenza!!) of these terrible pictures I thought it was just part of the usual e-mail chains that I receive everyday, but after reading these blogs my heart breaks into pieces thinking that this is the world we live in now days, its SAD but true, now I'll make sure to forward this e-mail to all my family and friends and have them sign this petition that Stefan posted.

Inappropriate?I have been reading this message and I feel sick to the core. How do these sick people who do these things, to some of the most beautiful and intelligent living things on this planet justify any reason for this torture and depravity. Maybe the only thing people like this understand is bloodshed and violence. If there is any justice in this world i hope one day they have a slow and painful death. Why do humans think they own this planet. The animals have as much right to live in peace without fear of being tortured, skinned alive, displayed as circus acts, used in sports, experimented on, used for food, clothing, handbags, necklaces etc. The sea should be free of pollution, toxic, oil, sewage, and any one who is working in this industry is raping the seas of all life. Finally the forests are being butchered. Maybe trees don't have feelings, I think however the mammals from little rodents to larger life forms have a great deal of feeling when man comes along and destroys there habitat and takes away there place of food and shelter. Maybe the only time the world will recover is when one day man is here no more. It is a shame that we wont then see the beauty of the world that god created.
Is there any one out there who knows of something we can do to stop these evil people, hunting and making the lives of these animals, who we share this planet with, better.

Inappropriate? If the Faroe Island’s drive hunts are 'a long tradition of a remote and proud community'.
...then perhaps we could start a fresh tradition of going to the Faroe Islands and disrupting proceedings? -
