Is Xbox 360 ever going to add official support to use a mouse and keyboard for gaming?
The controller is fine for most games, but not for first person shooters or RTS games... that's where a mouse and keyboard setup win.
If the answer is no, my guess is that Microsoft probably doesn't want to piss off PC makers at the expense of their customers.

Inappropriate?UT3 is coming out for the PS3 with mouse and keyboard support, so the 360 version may indeed have official mouse+keyboard support.

Inappropriate? In my honest opinion if you are looking for mouse and keyboard support on a console you should be re-evaluating why you bought the game for the CONSOLE.
If you want to play with you mouse and keyboard, buy a PC game. Consoles are meant for controllers. -
Inappropriate?"you should be re-evaluating why you bought the game for the CONSOLE."
I've already done that - that's WHY I bought it. It's not like I just drop $450 on whim...
Here are my reasons for using a 360 instead of a PC:
- I don't want to deal with crashes resulting from windows or the myriad number and combination of different drivers and software; I just want to pop in the disc and play
- I don't want to have to drop down $500+ every 2 years just to be able to play the latest games
- I don't want to wait a year to be able to play something that's already on the 360
"If you want to play with you mouse and keyboard, buy a PC game. Consoles are meant for controllers."
that's like saying people that like driving games should be happy using standard controllers instead of a wheel - which is retarded.... one of MS's strengths in terms of their products (compared to other companies) is their flexibility and customizability: different people with different tastes can use it how they like, which makes sense for them to add support for something more simple to implement than say an xbox live update...especially when at the end of the end both the 360 and PS3 are essentially computers (specialized ones - but they're still computers compared to the wii) -
Inappropriate? The biggest problem is that many of the games that I want to play are not coming out for the PC any time soon. I'd much rather get them for my PC - that's why I built the bloody thing in the first place. The sad reality, however, is that the trend, however bad it might be, appears to be relegating the PC to the same gaming market as the Macintosh, with an ever-increasing percentage of game development being exclusively for the console market.

Inappropriate?Microsoft is defiantly not Adding Keyboard Support for 360, and it's because of one reason. They are a PRETTY big propitiator of PC gaming. They want you to have your keyboard gaming with a Microsoft Keyboard and Windows Vista. And your pad gaming on a Microsoft 360!
