Why doesn't Xobni auto-update itself?

Why doesn't Xobni auto-update itself? The online download version is build 4249 but my installed copy is build 4226. If I download the new version it wants to uninstall the existing version and I don't want to have to reindex so I've not done that. Any help gratefully appreciated.

It should auto-update. Please make sure that:
1) you restart Outlook - Xobni updates once you close Outlook
2) Xobni can access the Internet (i.e., there are no blocked ports or internal firewalls keeping you from accessing the Internet)

Hi Aamir,

I tried this, but although I can't see any firewall issues I couldn't get Xobni to autoupdate.

I've taken the extreme step of uninstalling it and reinstalling the new version.

For the future, please add an "Update Xobni" link somewhere within the application's menus... it will make things a lot easier!

According to this post from the developers:

4249 and 4226 are identical versions. If you got 4249, you downloaded it via their website. If you're running 4226, you were updated automatically in the background.

Ah thanks for that. it explains what is going on anyway! However, I feel it's rather stupid of Xobni to have two current version numbers for installs which are actually the same version. Therein lies confusion! I hope they find a better way to do statistical tracking in the background in future.
