I have a problem with Yahoo! Domains. Last year, I bought a domain. When I went to visit the domain, I noticed there were sponsored searches from Yahoo! on that domain. SO I contacted customer care to see if I was going to get a percentage of the sponsored search if anyone clicked on the links on that page - my page. They sent me this response:
Yahoo! Domains <

Thank you for writing to Yahoo! Domains.
I am glad that you have forwarded your concern to us.
I understand that you are concerned about the domain <deleted>' as
you are getting a sponsored search page as your Homepage.
Joe, I have visited your domain at:
http://<deleted>/
and found the message "This site is under construction." and according
to my experience it seems to me that you have not created any Starter
Page for your domain as Yahoo! Domains does not provide web design
services. You can only use the templates provided to you within the
starter webpage of your account.
Since that did not answer the question, I sent them this:
That is not the issue.
The issue is the Yahoo! has put, without my consent or agreement,
sponsored searches on my domain, on a page I paid for and therefore
own.
I do not recall anywhere in the Yahoo! TOS that I agreed that Yahoo!
put
sponsored searches on my web page. If Yahoo! has decided to put
sponsored searches on my web page, and someone has clicked on those
search results, presumably Yahoo! is making money off of those clicks.
If Yahoo! is making money off of the clicks on sponsored search
results,
then I expect Yahoo! to share the revenues generated by those clicks
with the owner of that page, in other words, me.
I have several domains with Yahoo!. For each of them, I expect Yahoo!
to share any revenue generated by clicks on those links with me.
Unless
I have misunderstood the TOS. If you want to show me where in the TOS
it says Yahoo! can put up sponsored links on a page without permission
of the owner and without sharing revenue, I would be much obliged.
And got this back:
Hello Joe,
Thank you for writing to Yahoo! Domains.
I have forwarded your inquiry to our legal team. I will let you know
what they have to say once I receive a response.
I have created a case number for this inquiry. If you wish to ask about
this in the futurew, please refer to case number 1644518.
Thank you again for contacting Yahoo! Customer Care.
Regards,
Zack
This was 4-5 months ago. Since then, I have contacted Yahoo! but cannot learn the status of this. My page still has sponsored searches on them, and I still don't see any revenue from any clicks that happened on my page.
SInce Y! won't get back to me, I throw it out to the forum here. Maybe then they can answer my question.
