Del.icio.us extension not working with Firefox 3
I am having a problem with the Del.icio.us extension. Using Firefox 3 and browser keeps crashing. I uninstalled Del.icio.us and browser now works fine. I really want to use this.
Is there something I can do so I can use Del.icio.us?

I heard there was a newer version of the beta for del.icio.us extension that fixed the crashing I'm told, updated yesterday, try it now.
Nope, still not working. I tried it, but got the (Not Responding) message in my browser title bar and everything froze. Luckily I was able to restart Firefox and quickly uninstall del.icio.us and it works a-ok without the add-on. I tried a couple older versions of the add-on and experienced the same problem. There seems to be a problem with del.icio.us crashing my Firefox 3 that I can't figure out.

Inappropriate? This also breaks enter in the address bar, and does so for a lot of users. For brevity, I'm providing a search to @firefox_answers replying to people letting them know how delicious is breaking their browsers
I’m confident

Inappropriate? The 2.0.95 update should fix the address bar problem. But we have heard two other reports of strange browser freezes after this update, and that's a serious issue even if it only affects a tiny number of users, so we're working to figure out why they happened.
-
Inappropriate?I started having the browser freezing problems today using Firefox 3.0.1 and the latest delicious addon
-
Inappropriate? If you switch to classic view, it seems to correct the problem. The crashing thing makes using Firefox impossible. Still very frustrating.

Inappropriate?YEP HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM, CAN WE ROLL BACK TO THE PREVIOUS VERSION, WHY DID I JUST ACCEPT THAT VERSION WITHOUT THINKING IM SUCH A DH HAHAHAHA
I’m A !@#$HEAD

Inappropriate?Sorry everybody, I know this is frustrating. We're working on a fix. Unfortunately switching back to an earlier version doesn't seem to help with this particular problem.
You may be able to temporarily get rid of these issues by deleting the "delicious.rdf" file from your Firefox profile (which forces a full re-sync), but it seems that the problem comes back later. -
If you are going to suggest a remedy, it isn't really helpful if the solution doesn't really fix the problem. Furthermore, offering a solution and not giving people directions on how to do so isn't helpful either. Step by step directions on how to delete the 'delicious.rdf' might be nice. We're not all super tech-y and understand how to change our Firefox profile or even what that means. -
I know; it's just a temporary workaround, but some people are interested in trying it, and I figure that the people who would want to probably already know how. It's best to switch to Classic Mode for now, or use the bookmarklet buttons (http://delicious.com/help/bookmarklets) instead. But here's where to find the delicious.rdf file - on Mac OS X, it's inside your "home" folder, inside ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/[profile name].default. In Windows, it's at C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[profile name].default. If you navigate to those folders, there will be a file called delicious.rdf inside. Let me know if you'd like more details. -
Thank you. -
Britta: If you like, you can create an article on the Firefox Support Knowledge Base about how to deal with delicious issues. Check out this page for more info, it would really help everyone out: http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/C... -
Thomas: Thanks, that sounds like a good idea. I'll look into it. -
Inappropriate?I'm on FF3 and del.icio.us extension works "OK". - well, OK means it works on adding and viewing bookmarks, but not showing any of my "favorite tags", neither in menu, nor in the toolbar.
Any fix/tips for that? -
This is part of the set of issues with 2.0.95; when we release a fix, favorite tags should work better too. -
That'll be great. Thanks for all your team's excellent work! -
Inappropriate? The Delicious extension stops the address bar in Firefox 3 working for me (can't press 'enter'), but more depressing still is that it breaks the new Ubiquity extension too - again, I can't press enter
I’m sad
-
What version of the add-on are you using? Part of the 2.0.95 release was a fix for address bar weirdness. -
Also, check out: http://getsatisfaction.com/mozilla/to... (it's not always delicious, but disabling it worked for him) -
Inappropriate? We have a test update available (2.0.99) that fixes these issues - see http://support.delicious.com/forum/co... for details.
I’m happy
-
Inappropriate? We just released this fixed update (2.0.104) through the Mozilla system; please go to Tools → Add-ons → Find Updates to install it.

this solves the problem

Inappropriate?I have 2.0.104 in FF3.0.1 on SuSE Linux.
If I click the X to close the delicious sidebar it crashes the browser every time. If I do Control-B is closes fine.
