My email address has been hijacked!
Someone has hijacked my email address and sent out an email to every contact in my contacts list. I got a bounce back email that showed all the contacts who were sent the email. how can I stop this from happening? Some people are receiving random emails from me that I didn't send.

Inappropriate? It happened to me too. It's really easy to hijack your email. Just need DOB and Zip Code. I wrote asking them to strip password recovery. I got a completely worthless reply from their customer care:

CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD:
If the above information did not assist you, please attempt to request a
new password. Remember that our team may not reset your password or
remind you of your current password.
To change your password:
1. Sign in to your Yahoo! account using your current password by
signing in on any of Yahoo!'s personalized services (such as My Yahoo!,
Yahoo! Mail, etc.)
2. At the top of the page, click on either your user name or name that
appears in bold or the "My Account" link
3. Re-enter your current password to continue
4. Click on the "Change Password" link in your Account Information page
5. In the space next to "Current Password," enter your current password
or the new one we issued to you
6. In the space next to "New Password," enter a new password of your
choice. Passwords are case-sensitive (meaning that PASSWORD, PaSsWoRd

when entering your new password.
It is recommended your new password not contain any part of your old
one, for security reasons.
7. In the space next to "Confirm New Password," confirm your new
password by typing it again
8. Click the "Save" button to put your new password into effect

Good luck with your situation. :(
I’m annoyed
-
my email was hijacked and they changed password and security question how can i get back my account -
Inappropriate?1) Horse. Barn. Door. Get good antivirus, antispyware and firewall software and keep them up to date.
2) Stealth your answers. What was your Mom's Maiden Name? Chartreuse? What is your favorite color? Smith. Think, people, think.
-
Inappropriate?Do you have access to your account -- I don't? Yahoo themselves are no help as all the settings have been altered by the hijacker and I am being asked to prove the account is mine.
I’m frustrated

Yahoo's Account Security at 866-562-7219 can help, for there's data they have which a hacker can never change that can be used for recovery. -
Inappropriate?I currently have this problem and have not been able to get Yahoo customer service to help. When ever I send an email the hijacker has the reply set up to go to a fake account that looks just like my email account with one extra letter.
I’m frustrated
