Problem with SMS text messaging on Yahoo

I am using Yahoo Messenger for Vista. Why is it that Yahoo Messenger does not reliably transmit an SMS text message to any of the people on my contact list?

  You can also use http://webmessenger.yahoo.com until the problem is resolved.
