Inappropriate?Add me to your list.
I think I would like to completely delete the yahoo email program.
But I'm still looking into how to do THAT.
About this message...I have checked all my email programs and settings
and they ALL say that SSL is enabled. I am P.O.'d ..to say the least.
I just want it GONE. Any WAY. -
Zuki, if you enable SSL but do not make sure the ports change to match, you would get that problem. Go to help.att.yahoo.com, select Mail Help, and then search for POP for details to explain what the issue is. -
Inappropriate?Yahoo does not HAVE an email program.
Are you referring, perhaps, to Microsoft Outlook Express?
What does the Title Bar of the window say when you go into email?
I’m happy
-
Inappropriate?I have outlook express, and Incredimail, and gmail. Incredimail only collects the mail from the other email services and puts them in one place.
I am now getting THIS message, and tho this problem is not my problem, it DOES make mention of ""YAHOO EMAIL"".
Please note the attached, which was copied and pasted from my email.
"Dear AT&T Internet Services Member,
We have received questions regarding the following error message which is received by customers when they send e-mail using a non-verified e-mail address:
“Unable to send the message. Please verify the e-mail address in your account properties. The server responded: 553 From: address not verified.”
If you have received this error message, you will continue to receive it for emails sent with a non-verified address until you verify your
***--Yahoo! email address--*** or any other non AT&T email addresses (e.g., name@company.com, name@college.com, name@yahoo.com, etc.). Verification instructions are available on the AT&T Help site http://helpme.att.net/article.php?ite... If you have already verified your non AT&T email address and are no longer receiving the 553 error message, please disregard this email.
And I am still having the ORIGINAL PROBLEM mentioned on this thread.

Inappropriate?SBCGlobal customer, it's ATT which requires the SSL, not Yahoo. Turn on SSL in your mail client(s). Change the SMTP port to 465 and the POP port to 995 if they do not automatically change.
-
I have 3 email accounts and ALL THREE have the ports 465 & 995 . I just double checked them. Also all have 'SSL' checked, and all have 'Outgoing Mailserver requires authentication' checked. Still puzzled.
When I first got DSL it was with SBC global.net...THEN AT&T took over later on.
And when ANY new company gets involved, the changes start, and usually cause problems . -
Inappropriate?Check to make sure SPA (secure password authentication) is NOT enabled; authontication, yes, secure authentication, no.
-
Inappropriate?Password authentication is NOT checked.
SSL IS checked. -
Inappropriate?I just found this answer today.(11/19/08) Thanks. My email account
had the password changed somehow, and I couldn't get into the
account. After messing with it for quite some time, I called the isp
and had the password changed. (What givesTHEM the right to set
a password ? )..Anyway they say you change it again AFTER they
change it to get you back into it. Lots of time on the phone, and lots
of messing around. I still don't know if the other problem is fixed yet or
not. Guess I'll find out soon enough.
I also asked about DELETING a Yahoo Email acct, and was told
that if it was inactive for 90 days, it is automatically deleted.
So I'll just let it lapse.
Thanks for your input. I appreciate your time.
zuki.
