Member search using gmail account - FAIL

I was checking to see if any of my gmail contacts were on yelp and was only able to get the following message despite using the correct email address (@gmail.com) password and selecting GMail.

"Sorry, you can only invite mail contacts if you have a Hotmail, Yahoo, AOL Mail or Gmail email address. "
