Hi Jay,
I'm with you! :)
That's our goal afterall. Attracting advertisers is the focus of a few people within YouData. As we get more MeFiles that also helps tell the YouData story and ultimately assists in attracting new advertisers. Right now most of our ad sales efforts are human-intensive. To address that we are developing a "self-serve" ad campaign feature so that new advertisers can sign up and create ads for themselves.
Another thing to know is that over the past two months we have exploded in the growth of the number of our MeFiles! With that imbalance comes the need to supply the marketplace with advertisements to meet the attention demands. It's happening so thanks for hanging in there. We don't think people will ever go back to consuming ads passively while other people make money on the transaction. You are an integral part of the process now -- as you should be.
Lastly, please remember that we are a brand new company (launched in Oct '08) and are stilling building our reputation and attempting to prove the business model. Your participation is helpful!
Thanks,
James

Inappropriate?I understand the need for building reputation. Is there anything new (big, huge, gigantic) coming down the pipe right now that will help out with this (rumors are appreciated as well.) Like I said, the premise is great and I think I can speak for most of us that it is a great way to make some cash... as long as we have the opportunity to through advertisers.
-Jonathan.
I’m frustrated... kind of.
-
Inappropriate?Hi Jonathan,
Maybe this will help.
We have an ad sales and support team that is selling and creating ads on a daily basis. We also have thousands of new signups for MeFiles every week. Also, as an example, keep in mind that a local advertiser in Atlanta, GA might not choose to create a national ad campaign and so only people within certain zip codes in the Atlanta area will receive those ads. So YouData currently has pockets where there is an abundance of ads and pockets where locales don't factor into the equation much -- those people get the national-only campaigns. And even then, only if they match the advertisers' desired demographics.
Also, don't think of YouData.com as your destination to go click to see ads. We are not a survey site and we are not a paid-to-click site as have come before us. Our goals are far greater than that. We want our players to be everywhere so that in your normal day of browsing the net, the opportunity might present itself for you to see ads at the time of your choosing and make a little cash. For instance, we (along with hundreds of thousands of others) visit http://www.kirtsy.com on a regular basis and the advertising experience there fits nicely. We sometimes see that we have ads to consume and other times, not. It fits our web browsing habits -- we don't login to YouData directly very often to consume ads. There is nothing wrong with that of course, but it's not the end-game for us.
Regardless, since we are a startup company we are spending our resources as wisely as we can to achieve our goals while attempting to keep everyone (MeFiles, advertisers, web site owners) happy!
Thank you very much for being a YouData participant. We think it's going to be huge! :)
James

Inappropriate? You guys need to be selling more adverstisement, in areas all over. This is a really good idea. Could possibly dominate internet advertisement in the future.

Inappropriate?I think I'm going to stop visiting YouData.com. I haven't had any ads for the past several weeks. What a waste of time.
-
Inappropriate?Jeremy, I think alot of members are doing that. Very discouraging to sign in and constantly see no ads. People on some forums are calling YD a scam not only for members but for advertisers as well.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?I started a little over a month and only made $1.82, it is frustrating. What is being done? I was led to believe we could make some extra money doing this, but what I have made so far won't get me a gallon of milk.
I’m very upset and frustrated!
-
Inappropriate?I too am very frustrated. I very seldom even check anymore because I got tired of going to the site and not having any ads to look at. The more they do this to people the more people will start to drop like flies and then yet another good idea will go down the tubes.
I’m frustrated about this.
-
Inappropriate?I sign in everyday and Im lucky if I see 1 ad every 2 or 3 weeks. This is sad. Can we NOT get some more ads??????????
I’m sad
-
Inappropriate?Ditto. It's almost not worth the time to launch the app on an occasional basis hoping an ad will finally be waiting...
I’m waiting. Patiently.
-
Inappropriate?apparently nothing...I mean just look here, they don't respond to our questions here or give updates on what is going on with YD...the last ad I had was on 8/28/09!! 3 weeks with no ads??? Come on... If you guys want ads to click on, and good places to make a few extra bucks on the side, email me at katw129@yahoo.com, and I'll turn you on to legit ptc sites that'll make you some money!

I just responded in another thread to this same person. I will merge the topics. Posting in multiple threads only creates more confusion and work for everyone. -
Inappropriate?I haven't had one add in 5 weeks. I thought this was a cool way to make some extra money. Guess I was wrong.

Inappropriate?I too have gotten tired of going to my account and not having any ads to look at. I did find another way to earn. How many of you do a search and use either google or yahoo? I use to use google all the time but have switched my search engine. I use another one that rewards me from time to time with points. I can use these points to "buy" some pretty cool gifts. They even have things like video game consoles. There are so many things to choose from. You won't get a point everytime you do a search but I can tell you I have been in this for a little less then a month and have 92 swagbucks so far. Check out this link and take a look.

Inappropriate?(Posting this here too since multiple threads existed)
Hello everyone,
We do have ads flowing through the system. Not everyone matches the ads at all times. For instance, unless you live in a particular set of zip codes in Texas, you will not receive an ad from a regional sandwich shop. Unless you are a mother of boy in a particular area, you might not receive an ad currently running. This is how advertisers gain value from YouData -- their ability to target very explicit demographics/geographies from the MeFile population. Consider the size of our user-base. If a company wanted to target all females in the United States that could cost them tens of thousands of dollars for an ad campaign that will last a few hours. Instead, they use the system to target VERY specific subsets of the female population. It is a much more effective spend than than spending thousands of dollars on banner ads that reach males and females with no potential connection to their product whatsoever.
Here is a testimonial from a recent advertiser who ran a very small campaign with us.
http://paperlocket.typepad.com/studio...
She spent a small amount of money to generate the exact traffic of the profiled consumer that she wanted. It's very effective.
Of course we'd love for everyone to have a significant number of advertisements every day and depending on where you live and what your MeFile indicates, you might. We are working to sale ads all over the US.
All that said, we seem to have picked up a number of users from various survey sites and work-at-home sites. So I would like to mention that we are not a paid-survey site. Nor are we a work-at-home site. We are an advertising network. We do not encourage our users to repetitively visit youdata.com in the hopes of receiving an ad offer. Instead, we would encourage you to visit sites that have the youdata adget in place (like http://www.kirtsy.com or http://www.thebloggess.com) and throughout the course of your normal day's web browsing you will be presented with paid banner advertisements from time-to-time. This is in contrast to every banner ad network out there where you make $0 for your attention. Our model allows the site owner to make money, you to make money, and the advertiser to reach a very targeted group. There simply aren't enough targeted advertisements for you that will sustain repeated visits on a daily basis (maybe one day there will be). We so strongly believe this that we are considering removing the standalone ad player and the adgets page from yoduata.com proper and replacing it with a roll of sites that contain the adget. This will help enforce the message that we are an ad network and not a survey/work site.
I hope that makes sense.
I’m confident

James,
Thanks for the explanation. I understand that I personally won't get ads everyday if I don't fit the profile of the advertisers but it's hard to apply that explanation to my 20 or so referrals that haven't gotten any ads this week. Now, maybe they just haven't been to the site to check for ads but I know a few of them do check a few times a week and have none. I would love to keep referring people because I know the more members you have the bigger attraction for advertisers but a dry spell like this makes it difficult to be enthusiastic about the program. Another reward for referrals, other than the penny received on each of their ad views would be helpful to keep your current members interested in promoting YouData while we wait for the ads to pick up. -
I am one who only gets one ad maybe a week. But I still love this site. That is maybe 11 cents I did not have and it pays every week. I have a suggestion. Why not give us each a link where we can get people to advertise with you Data and maybe get a bonus when they do. I know a few great sites that may be interested in advertising their sites. They are on the Internet so their site would be beneficial to all. That would mean more ads for everyone. -
I think this is a very good idea. I added these 2 sites to my favs. I also picked up a new ad at the link there you gave.So yes I would like to know what sites have the adget on them.Maybe offer the adget to our own sites.I am mod on 2 forums how would I get the adget on thoses 2 sites and maybe advertise the 2 sites on there also. -
Inappropriate?I have only got one ad this week so what is going on with the page

Inappropriate? Here are 2 great sites that make me good money. They are the BEST PTC sites on the internet today that actually pay you.I do these everyday these are not penny ads and always check You data everyday also.

Inappropriate? Here is a great link everyone. I made $14 in about 8 minutes viewing 14 ads for 30 seconds each. You have to register and there can only be one account per address. You have to click on ads and then another window will open with the ad. You have to watch it for 30 seconds and then at the top of the page will be a 4 digit number. Next to that it will tell you to click one of the numbers. You click on the number and you get credit and then go look at another ad. Here is the link.....let me know what you think. The only pay out after you reach a $1000 but hey....I can wait for a $1000 check and at making $14 a day it won't take me long. Here is the link:

And yet I have emails from people who have actually been paid. Not sure what to believe anymore. I will take my chances. However, I won't invest in their site. -
Inappropriate? This is one of the sites I have been paid every WEEK like clockwork. I wont get rich quick but it doesnt take a lot of time so it all works out. Keep up the good work! Jawsie1951

Inappropriate?Well it's nice to know I'm not the only one frustrated and wondering where all the ads are..... YouData has been around a year or close to it right? Just seems like we should be making more than a few cents a month from this by now.
I’m frustrated
-
Inappropriate?I just got 3 ads this morning. the last time i got more than 2 was probably 7 months ago.
I’m indifferent
-
Inappropriate?thats funny I get this every now and then but I usually get ads weekly!
-
Inappropriate?are you helping to promote youdata? If you help promote it they will be able to get more ads to pay you 10 cents. This is not a free govt giveaway it is people working hard to sell others peoples product! The group with the problem should come up with the solution...GOOD JOB YOUDATA! I will promote you in the exchanges I surf!
-
But to say we the people who believe in the project who aren't associated with the company from an advertising or marketing standpoint to help promote and push for the company on our own free time is dumb because the company should be striving for the best and they should give us a reason why they are good and most of all deliver on their promises of a growing company. -

Inappropriate? We don't mind people discussing sites like clixsense or cashle but we will not allow you to post personal referral links to those sites.
-
Inappropriate?I never Got Any Ads After sign up - I just got 10 to 12 ads initially then i updated my profile...thats it no more ads showing up!
-
Inappropriate?same here-when I first signed up I got several ads, now I get zero, every single day. I've gotten 2 ads in the past MONTH. That's it. It is a real disappointment because I love the way this site operates and it blows the whole PTC concept away but it's become pretty useless. I started to tell my friends about it to get sign ups but I have since stopped. As it stands now I wouldn't refer to anyone because it's pretty non-functional.
I’m disappointed
