Does Anyone know how to contact an actual person at You Tube or information about thier non profit program?

Ashley, I did the exact same thing and I'm finding it impossible to get a response from someone at YouTube. I've sent 3 or 4 help center emails in the past 3 weeks and no response. Its frustrating, I know. There is absolutely nothing posted in the YouTube FAQ about the nonprofit program.

I feel like I have to have inside connections to get customer support. I'll let you know if anything turns up on my end.

ps I actually thought about driving to the youtube HQ to get help. I am not crazy. I just don't like the idea of my organization losing out on a great opportunity.

gizurix: I notice you say you feel like you're missing out on a great opportunity. Is there something in particular that you're seeking? Have they publicized a donation program that you're trying to apply for? I'm not familiar with it, so please enlighten me, and maybe we can figure out the best way to get a response. What's the opportunity?

Hi all, thanks for all your replies. Ah, Gizurix, if you drive to HQ -- come pick me up in DC and I'll come with you. It's pretty ridiculous to launch a program and then have no support for it. I'll let you know if I find out anything as well. Eric, the program allows you to recieve donations via you tube and You Tube also promotes your videos on its homepage. I'm not giving up -- I really want to be part of this. If you have any ideas, please send them my way. Thanks all.

I have a similar question, but for what I think is a more important reason.

Somebody registered with youtube using my email address. I didn't, and don't want to. BUT I keep getting emails from youtube about "all these people that want to be in my "group" and share movies with me".

All I want to do is get someone at youtube to close the account so that I can get some peace and not see these emails any more.

I had to search alot to find a way to contact youtube but here is the email address...

just send them an email and they will reply in a couple of days..

I contacted Youtube via press@youtube.com and they ignoring my request. I filed a thread on GS they ignoring it.

The phone numbers I have found say that they are experiencing high call volume and to leave a message, but the voicemail box says that it is full. The fax numbers don't answer either !

Now that Google bought YouTube, good luck in getting any help. I had a copyright question as it seemed to me after reading the legal-ese on their web site that YouTube may be able to give my video away or even sell it if I upload on YouTube.

But maybe I'm reading it wrong, so I called the number on YouTube's page. The person who answered told me I had to get the answer on YouTube's web site. I explained I had looked at the web site and still couldn't figure it out. I was told again I had to find the answer on the web site.

I asked to speak to their legal office and was told the legal office doesn't take calls. I asked to speak to a manger, I was told I would have to tell them the name of the manager if I wanted to talk to a manager. And if I didn't know the name, I couldn't talk to them. I tried telepathically to get a name nothing came, so I was barred from YouTube's help. I felt like I had gone back in time to the former Soviet Union. Then I thought about Google's owners name - Sergei, hmmm. Interesting.

Just my opinion, but YouTube feels like it is not about people and it is not user friendly. Just try to get help or even email them and see if you have better luck. And if my concerns that they can distribute and sell my video at will are correct (no way of knowing unless I can telepathically get the name of a manger) but if they can, how is YouTube about people, other than how to make our videos Google's slaves.

Youtube deleted my whole account a few days ago. It really made me mad because I have had that account since July 2006. I had 186 videos on my channel.The problem was that I had a video of Donovan Mcnabb that I had shot WITH MY CELL PHONE while I was at the game when the Eagles played the Cowboys last year during Monday night football. So youtube sent me an e-mail saying that the NFL had complained to them that it was copyright infringement, SO THEY DELETED MY WHOLE ACCOUNT ! ! ! I had some videos that were accidentally deleted off my computer that were on my youtube channel that I can't get back now. If you go to youtube right now and do a search for Donovan Mcnabb you will find 776 results. I'm sure those people that posted those videos do not own the rights to those videos. YOUTUBE, GO DELETE THEIR ACCOUNTS TOO ! I would say that more than 70 percent of the videos on youtube infringe someone's rights in some way. I believe that this will eventually be the downfall of youtube. Look at the most viewed video on youtube " The Evolution Of Dance",111 million views. All of the songs he dances to have copyrights, and he didn't get permission from all of those artists to broadcast their songs ! Youtube should delete that video and that guy's whole account ! Why not ? I was a huge fan of youtube.com, but when they deleted my whole account instead of just the one video, I have a huge problem with that ! On top of all that, there is no good number that will let you speak with anyone about it ! Their fax numbers don't work and when you e-mail them, they send you some generic B.S. e-mail about copyrights !

BOTTOM LINE: YOUTUBE REALLY DOESN'T CARE ! ! !

I just looked around Youtube today on how to contact them and I found nothing that was clear. That is not good for a website.

My family just lost 250+ priceless videos of my niece & nephew growing up. ALL the videos are pure at heart and perfectly acceptable. They are of KIDS for Christ's sake! My sister-in-law's parents, cousins and other family all have watched these video's are many are out of state. I cannot believe that youtube deleted this account without warning or reason. What kind of company have they turned into?? Amazing family videos... deleted for what? All video's were of kids less than two years old..... Most, filmed within her home. What a shame that they did this.

Oh, I forgot. Google (in which I own stock) said that Youtube does not accept incoming calls. WTF? They will delete accounts for no reason yet accept investors dollars? Sorry, this type of treatment will eventually come back to get them whether it's through reputation or a downturn of customer support. Anyone want to create another video posting site?!?! I would support you!

Youtube has no customer service at all. The argument that we get what we pay for is a moot point, I pay by watching ads. The solution is to abandon youtube for a better service. www.vimeo.com would be a good start.

Agree with the posts explaining youtube is dead in the water. They now seem to be interested in the big cash tv companys so what happened to YOUTUBE..

for example , i made my own 3d ani spoof, with my own sound bites, in other words EVERYTHING MINE, they booted it off, why, it was getting a hundred times more hits than the actual usa comercial tv station, pissed off and with loads of $$'s youtube decided to boot me off...unbelievable...

youtube is protecting WMG and violating users rights by not posting a list of WMG authorized songs. youtube forces you to choose other less than desireable music in place of songs that WMG has no rights to. Please list the catalog youtube and stop taking down these type of posts that tell the truth. there is no getting a hold of youtube in person which is a violation of state and federal laws requiring businesses to post or list active telephone numbers.

I'm having trouble logging into YouTube right now, as in, when I click on 'Sign in' it just sends me to the homepage. So, I went to the help section and found....Nothing. I tried to contact them, but soon learned, as many others have, that you can't contact them. So, I may never see the inside of my YouTube account again, at this rate...

And the whole WMG thing is really starting to get on my nerves...What the heck is WMG, anyway? I'll go look that up after this, I guess...And what songs are theres? Oh, wait, can't tell us that. We just have to take our chances...Grrr....

someone stole my account! I can't get in touch with anyone at YouTube either. If California State Law requires businesses to post or list active telephone numbers and YouTube is not doing so, why is there not a Class-Action law suit against them???????????????????

The worst part is non of their automated help center crap works either. They advertise an email form: non-existant, they tell you how to correct a problem, but none of the features or item to click exist on the "Accounts" form the say to go to.

100% of their help is crap. No wonder they had to sell to Google, but I see the Google Youtube support team, has not dented any of the problems.

I'm sure this is because, without any form of feedback, they think they do not have any problems.

Hey...ummm...i got a video thats 190 megabytes...and it said that it wont allow it to upload because of the leinght...wich is 1 hour and 30 min...but its not 2 GB please help
