Hey Terry, I just got the first look at the BB app. I see that there's potential, but I feel like the direction is wrong. If the mobile version of the site is as good as it is, the native app has to blow it away to be worth using. I think generating the screens in a browser view is a mistake. I personally would do everything with standard "MainScreen" objects. It's very easy to do, and if you take the time to design good display elements ("Fields") then the usability can be just as good. Things like Gradients and whatnot are also possible, but have to be done custom. Take a look at the images I attached. These are a few examples of the project I'm working on right now and the direction that I saw the application going. Also, keep in mind that the BB Storm (touchscreen) will be coming out soon. So if applications don't compete with the iPhone look and feel, they'll never be considered as more than second-best.
I only bring this up because I use the site and the iPhone app (on an iPod) all the time. It's very useful but have heard frustrations about look and feel as well as connection issues on the BB. I just sent Kevin (hopefully) a solution to the connecting problems. If you guys want to contact me for any more, feel free. I'd be willing to help you out with some of the graphic elements if you want to go that direction. If not, take note that at the initialization of the program, the Font's can be hardwired and even though I haven't done it, I'm sure the emulation of the browser can be hardwired as well.
