Zemanta is embedding invalid markup
Please use valid, semantic markup.
The list of links is using a fieldset with legend. However, these should only be used inside forms. I have to re-write the code everytime I use zemanta links. I remove the fieldset and change the legend to an h3.
I'd also prefer the option of no inline CSS styles on links. Not to mention the target="_new".
To summarize.
1. Don't use invalid code (fieldset/legend without a form)
2. Give us an option to have plain markup instead of the inline styles and such.
thanks

Inappropriate? We hear you. We'll try to have something in this regard for our next big iteration in a few weeks.
I’m sad because I can not immediately help
The company thinks
this is one of the best points

Inappropriate?I'd like to see completely customizable embeds. I don't use the WYSIWYG editor in Wordpress so tons of inline CSS looks quite awful -- not to mention how the inline style clashes with the class definition. I use macros for my images and captions. It would be great if Zemanta embedded a similar short macro I type in manually.
At the very least, it would be great if all inline CSS would be removed and just the class="zemanta-img" left in.
I’m impatient

Inappropriate? What kind of macros are you using? Through a plugin or something else?
-
Inappropriate?Yes, I made a little tool for my own use (http://kometbomb.net/2008/03/01/use-m...). Basically, you can add macros by typing this in the post:
<!--macro_name "parameter" "another parameters"-->
It's then very easy to move things around in the post. Wordpress 2.5 actually has a feature (shortcodes) that does something like that, although the shortcodes have to be added by a plugin.
In any case, it would be very convenient if the embedded HTML could be customized for a variety of reasons. :) -
Inappropriate?I understand. We'll try to figure out something user-friendly.

Inappropriate?I was just about to post a message about the non-semantic use of fieldsets.
Definitely drop any inline css, or create an option to switch off the use of inline css.
I'd prefer to control this with my own style sheet. Obviously you want to have people who don't do their own styling to not have to worry about things looking poor, but definitely keep all those options open and you'll get the more nerdy types interested! -
Inappropriate?A further note I'd like to add in here, is that adding links through zemanta defaults to the deprecated target="_blank"
I think this should be removed as well, due to it's invalid nature. Definitely makes me feel that the plugin should have an options screen to allow the user to designate options such as target usage, class names, and default Related Articles HTML structure.
