Zemanta not functioning within Wordpress
Having trouble getting Zemanta up and running in Wordpress (self-hosted, 2.6.3). First time Zemanta user so I'm not entirely sure what I should be looking for, but "Links recommendations will appear here" standin text never goes away, and no link suggestions come up when I'm writing/editing a post. What am I missing?

Inappropriate? Are you using a Plugin or Browser extension (Firefox extensin, IE plugin?)
Depending on this, we can then figure out how to further debug the issue.
Thanks! -
Inappropriate?Hi Jure, thanks for your response. It's the plugin -- I use Safari for a browser.
-
Inappropriate?Still need help on this one guys! Another strange occurrence is that when I click on the "Update" link in the box on the right hand side of the Wordpress post editor, it turns into a red message that reads "Error."
I’m frustrated

Inappropriate?Sorry for no reply. After reading your bug-report we started working on a version of WP plugin with better debug so we can actually help you. Sadly it's not ready yet, but it should be soon. I'll let you know once we have it ready.

Inappropriate?Im impressed with the solution focused on building a better WP plugin, and that a Safari guy has a real chance in our Mozilla galaxy
I’m Impressed

Inappropriate? We've nov prepared version of Wordpress plugin that will tell you if there's a problem in communication with our servers. You can get it from here: http://code.zemanta.com/jure/zemanta-...
After some more testing, we'll push this to our official repository. -
Inappropriate?Hi Jure,
There's no debug.php file in that directory, though it is linked to from the Plugin page in Wordpress.
I’m sad
-
Inappropriate?Ups, mistake on our side. That's obsolete part. Just go to Plugins -> Zemanta configuration and you should see status in the bottom of the screen.
-
Inappropriate?OK, thanks. I'm getting an "ok" response on that page, but still no links are showing up when writing/editing a post.
-
Inappropriate? Can you just try it in Firefox (without zemanta extension installed), so we can figure out if it's a browser or backend communication issue?
-
Inappropriate? We found another possible reason for this error:
Can you please make sure that file wp-content/plugins/zemanta/json-proxy.php has "read and execute" permissions for whole world.
So if you can 'chmod' that file to 755 and try again, it could possibly fix the problem.
(if you need more instructions how to do this, just let me know what's your FTP/SSH client that you're using and I'll find you more detailed instructions) -
Inappropriate?Hi scheuguy,
we are trying hard to solve your problem, however we are losing ideas what can possibly be wrong.
Can you please make a screenshot of Zemanta Configuration page at /wp-admin/plugins.php?page=zemanta While it contains your API key, it would be better to send it directly to my email gasper.koren@zemanta.com
I’m frustrated
