  • Hi atheana.

Looking at the bill screenshot you included it appears you have dialled our access number, then entered the 0800 number and pressed your phone’s dial button instead of or as well as the # key.

If you look at the third call—the one which shows as to our access number—the duration is 17 minutes and 37 seconds. However, another call direct to the 0800 number then begins 12 seconds after the start of the first call, so both were running at the same time.

If you dial the 0800Buster access number and then at the prompt enter the 0800 number and press #, the only call that would show in your bill is the free call to our access number.
    • I used 0114 319 0800, and followed the instructions, waited for the voice prompt, then entered the 0800 number i wanted to dial followed by the # key, was connected to the desired company, spoke to someone, ended my call a few seconds later. I then dialled to check my balance and discovered I had used 27p of credit.....! i tried it 2 more times slowly and confident that I was doing it correctly and check the airtime balance again and the same happened. I am PAYG and on Virgin network.
      Please explain !?
    • I assume as you are on PAYG, you were charged for the call to 0114 319 0800 number. If you had a contract with inclusive minutes then these minutes would have been used...

  • SJE1975 - Do you get free calls to UK landlines as part of your PAYG offering?

The 0800Buster site mentions: ““Free” assumes you receive inclusive minutes to UK landlines as part of your mobile phone contract. 0800Buster access numbers should be included in these free minutes, and should otherwise be charged at your provider’s normal UK landline rate.”

I've tried the 0800 buster, but my iPhone doesn't respond when I press the hash key. Why doesnt it proceed to ring the number? Must I also press 'call' after the hash key? Thanks, Nemo
