Are integrative wellness services eligible?

After no relief from seeing my regular doctor, she referred me to the naturopathic doctor at the integrative wellness center. I alternate between seeing her and a nutritionist. My insurance does not cover these services so I was wondering if my FSA would reimburse me.

  • Hi Cindy,

Visits (the cost of the appointment) to a integrative wellness center and nutritionist are typically covered if they are for the prevention, diagnosis, cure or mitigation of a disease or illness. Be aware that the cost of food is not an approved expense (this often comes up with nutritionist) and that for any kind of vitamin or supplement recommended by either you will need a letter of medical necessity stating a specific medical condition requiring the vitamin or supplement.

    Does that help?
