Can you have different students earning different badges and achievements?

I would like students to choose different paths. For example, students work on the same assignments however when they level up their rewards and badges are named different things? Is this possible?

  • We love it when design is based off student choice! I would recommend taking advantage of issuing rewards via the users playercard, you have a "Reward this User" button that can be personalized per each user. Otherwise you can clone the group and have different students join different groups to obtain different badges. An account can have up to 50 Groups at any given time.

  • Ok.. to clarify...

This is what I would like to do. Is it possible?

I am a 5th grade teacher. I would like to start my class in a group to create their gamer identity. I then want to allow students to choose different paths in order to receive different achievements and badges.

Could I cone the original group 5 times for 5 different paths? Delete the students that didn't choose that path and leave the students that did?

This will allow them to keep their current XP, Level, and rewards but work through different paths?

So... I can create one group with several quests and then clone it so that students are doing the same quests but receiving different badges and achievements?

Does this make sense and will it work?

    Thanks! :)

Yes, cloning the group 5 times and having different students join the groups will work to accomplish what you hope to for the different badges.

  • I ran into a problem. If I have students working in different groups in the same class there is no way for them to see the true rank? Is this correct.

Is it possible for different teams to earn different rewards?

Can teams be moved around throughout the year? Thanks

  • 1) Yes
    a. Ranks are tied to group xp, not system xp.
    b. If you have xp prerequisites on quests, it is tied to group xp. You can use a quest, rank, or reward as quest prereq.

    2) Established in quest design. You can design quests with the prerequisite of access to a specific team.

3)Yes, you can move students from one team to another, The teams should just aggregate the team players' points once moves- so the points go with them.

  • Hello mrsflauter, it looks like the question regarding ranking was previously addressed here: https://getsatisfaction.com/3d_gamela...

Regarding removing students from Teams; As a teacher, you can remove team members- Click on the 'Group' > 'Team' > select the Team to be removed from> Click on "remove from team" tab next to students gamertag. The student has the ability to leave the team as well by selecting 'Leave team' next to their name in the Team Tab.

Please note that Student accounts cannot be deleted but can be removed from the group through the Group tab.

Hope that helps! Please let us know if you have any more questions.
