What formats can I upload into the Environments?

Hi!
Is there a table/chart or information on what file formats I can upload into which environments? For instance, can I use objects I've created in Blender? Unity? Scratch? Sketch Up? For SL? inWoW? in others? I am interested in developing a list of environments that people may be using (I am always looking for environments to use), a list of software that can be used to develop resources for the environments and a list of file formats needed for uploading. Something like this:

.................................Software..................File formats

Second Life...............Photoshop................jpg, .gif

World of Warcraft............?.............................?.

Thank you for any info!

  • I don't believe that information is compiled in one place, Beth. For example, you can't upload anything into WoW.

When I first read this question, I thought you were asking what file formats could be uploaded in 3D GameLab as forms of evidence of completion. We're working on that.

  • Thanks - 3D Game Lab is totally part of this question, I just haven't gone through enough quests yet to know what I want to do. This can be real time consuming - I am trying to maximize my efforts.

Good information about WoW - its on my list.

    Thanks!

There are 3 ways you can add content to a quest. Upload, Embed, or Attach.

    > To upload content to the quest description itself, it must be an image. Anything that is an image (avatars, reward images, quest images, etc) require gif, png or jpg. Those are the options.

    > Embeddable content can be any HTML embed code. This is perhaps the most powerful piece because it relies on other Web 2.0 tools that we can choose and bring to bear.

    > The final piece is an attachment, which is typically reserved for comments. Any other upload form (attachments to quest attempts), will accept any single file. In the case of attachments we don't look at or modify the file at all, so it should be stored on our server exactly as it's sent.

    Does that help?
