Could you support letter edit?

Could you support editing the words letter by letter?
This would be really helpful for languages like Chinese, Japanese and Korean
Because for languages like Chinese, we write sentences in characters. I don't want to delete the whole sentence when changing one character.
So if you add an option to allow cursor between letters, it would be really handy for Asian people.

Cheers

    Hi Ryan,

7Notes is currently available with Japanese language support and I believe that it supports this feature of editing individual letters. I think that this version is only available if you download from the Japanese AppStore, but I am confirming this via the team in Tokyo. I will update as soon as I get an answer!

    Kind regards, Ben.

I had a look further into this and found that one possible workaround could be to utilise the "Auto Feed (for Stroke)" feature.

This will automatically insert your writing into the document after a short delay. This could allow you to write a Chinese character, have it auto-inserted, and then write the next character etc.

Because these characters are now entered as individual items you can position your cursor within the sentence and then insert, delete, or overwrite specific characters.

To get to this option select "System" and then switch on the "Auto Feed (for Stroke)" option. You can modify the "Input Delay" for this option to best suit your writing style.

  • Thanks for the reply, Ben.
I just tried the 'Auto Feed' option, it does work for me but not perfect.
Because I can't write too fast that way even if I reduce the delay time to the shortest.
BTW, I looked at 7notes in Japanese app store, it's quite interesting that the icon is different :)

Thanks for the feedback Ryan. I will pass on your feedback about the speed for writing using the auto feed and see if there is any other approach that might work better for you.

I haven't seen the version of the 7Notes icon that is in the Japanese app store for quite a while now. I'll take a peek and see if it's possible to add it to the icon topic for comment. Thanks for the heads-up!!!

      Best regards, Ben.
