Moveable zoom box and palm pad. PLEASE!!

The ability to move the zoom box up and the area underneath it becomes a "palm pad" like most other notes apps would make this app truly completely perfect. The only thing holding me back from fully using this app is that when I need to write fast like if I am taking notes on the phone or from something I can't just hit re-wind and hear again my palm touches the screen and it get's all messed up. Please oh please make this an option!!

    Hello Ryan,

This is a great idea and one that we are looking into.
As I get more information I will update this topic and you will be notified!

    Best regards,

  • Thank you Ben! I'll only reply under this one. I have talked to several people and when showing them this app their biggest complaint was that they had to write on it like they were "drawing on a chalkboard" which is an accurate comparison as you can't rest your hand on a chalk board, but several agreed.

I'm curious if you have a ballpark idea on a time you expect to incorporate this. Do you think in the next few weeks or several months?

I, as well as the others I have shown, think that this would be THE app for handwritten notes. Using 2 columns is a great idea. I am using 1 narrow column on the left for a ToDo list and a wide one on the right to take notes such as a customers info.

    Thanks again,
    Ryan

      Hello Ryan,

I'm afraid that we don't have a ballpark for developing this idea at the moment.

Our development team will keep it under consideration, as we are always planning how to improve the 7Notes product and the handwriting experience.

Your description of "drawing on a chalkboard" is a useful one as well.

Thanks for the feedback about the columns as well! We are now starting to utilise the 7Notes gallery to distribute templates that utilise this approach such as meeting note templates, recipes etc.

      Many thanks, Ben.

  • Is there any progress on providing a palm pad or palm protector. I am choosing between Notes Plus wich has a palm pad and 7notes.

    Hello guys,

From iOS 5, the input screen area can be moved.

To make this option available, check if Settings app -> General -> Keyboard -> Split Keyboard is ON.
You can move the mazec window by grabbing the keyboard icon (red-circled in the image file above).

I think this iOS native feature can be a workaround for wrist protection.

    Regards,
    Toshi

    Hi Toshi and Ben,

I tried this input screen feature that you suggested but it still is like writing on chalkboard (as noted in an earlier post), because you can't put your palm down while writing. There is an awkward extension of the wrist which can become quite distracting. Not to mention uncomfortable..

I have not purchased the app yet simply due to this missing feature. I will keep checking back but have moved on to other applications because it is just too uncomfortable. I am EXTREMELY interested in your app, especially for taking notes during work meetings and having my handwriting transcribed.

Re: usability, the more you can make the app be functional in a way that is as familiar the better. For example, being able to start writing at the top of a page and moving downwards as the writing is occurring is a most usual experience. If I could write and see my words appearing at the top of the page and moving downwards accordingly, it would make more sense perceptually/ kinesthetically, and be very comforting and this, user friendly.

It's been a year since put under consideration, any closer now? Hope to see it soon!

    Best,
    Will

  • Dito, All my devices are Android. Tried WritePad and it sucked. This is a much better text recognition app, but it seems like it is made only to write with your fingers and not with a stylus. You would get so many more people on board if you could make this app more stylus friendly. Also, more language options would be nice: Spanish and French would work for me personally. Thanks!

  • I have just purchased this app, I use a stylus and I love the convert to text. The only issue I have is that I cannot rest my palm whilst writing. I do use notability which has a great palm rest but does not have the convert to text option. If I was able to import my writing from notability and have it convert the text, that would be equally as good. Top priority would be for you guys and gals to come up with the palm rest which would make this the best app!
