AHA App not working on 2g iphone.

Why Won't Aha Radio App work on my iphone 2g? I have the new z130 BT and want to use the AHA app, but everytime I click the app on my phone it goes to a black screen and then back to my menu. Is there something im doing wrong? Is this app not compatible with my phone?

    Hi Campbell,

Sorry to hear about the problem. Our app should work on the EDGE version, however the performance would be severely limited. The EDGE network doesn't really provide a lot of bandwidth for the data we are sending to the device, and that model doesn't support all of the geolocation stuff.

There have also been some issues lately stemming from a bug in Apples iOS software (started with version 4.3.1). There is a thread on this site, but you can read more detail about it on the blog http://ahamobile.com/blog/2011/04/19/...

I'll check and see what I can find out about any new problems with your device, but I think that ultimately the experience won't be ideal.

  • Thanks Ryan,

I am currently running 3.1.3 software on the 2g iphone. I will try the settings change, but im not optimistic it will work. Is there any other solutions instead of buying an iphone 4 for or 3g?

    Hi Campbell,

We are still looking into the code to see what may be causing some users on older devices to experience crashes. But ultimately I think that even if this is resolved the performance would not be something that you were satisfied with. When we originally launched we tested on EDGE, 3G and 3GS devices, and while it worked on EDGE it was not something we would recommend. And we will probably soon be updating our app description and requirements to reflect that.
