add scores to existing assessment

I would like to be able to add scores within an existing assessment. For example, when my students complete an assessment but I ask for revisions, it would be nice to be able to add a new assessment score under the heading of the original assessment. Of course, this is probably a ridiculously complicated idea - in which case, I could be totally happy if the "add assessment" button also had room for me to add comments without having to click through into the main group assessment page...

My first reaction was that having multiple scores under a single assessment for a single standard would be confusing: how would multiple scores within an assessment work, grade-combination wise? For example, say we're averaging the scores in a standard, and a student gets 3 on the first assessment and a {2, then a 4} on the second assessment. Would their average be a 3.5, or a 3? It seems like it should be a 3.5, but then figuring out how to display that in a sensible way seems difficult.

Then I started thinking about having a "history" for each grade. We'd only display the 3 and the 4, but if you clicked on the 4 maybe you could see that it used to be a 2. Intriguing!

Still, the added complexity of this is worrisome to me. Let's keep talking about it, and get some input from others!
