AIB Buttons in Inbox & Other Lists

I'd like to see AIB buttons when you're viewing your inbox or any other email list (search results, All Mail, etc.). Screencast describing requested feature below:

  • Hello Steven

    Thanks for your suggestion and video. Can you give us a bit more information about how and why this would help you?
    We can then get other user's thoughts and add it then to be looked into at an upcoming suggestions review.

    Can you also add the following:

    * your role
    * a bit about your workflow
    * how you see this helping your workflow
    * why it would make a difference to your workflow

  • I agree with you Steven. However, here's a workaround:

    1. Select all the emails you want to change and give them a temporary tag that's somewhat unique. You can even create one like "temp" if you like.

    2. Pull up those emails into a AIB view from the Inbox screen.

    3. Click "Show Mail & Done" at the bottom.

    4. Use the buttons as you like, after selecting the emails.

    A bit convoluted, for sure.

  • I am a project manager. I am often out of the office and I receive emails on my phone via gmail. I check the emails while away, and reply if necessary, but it's not efficient to file them on my phone. (I tried your Android app and I didn't like it - I'm sorry.) When I return to the office, I want to just be able to select all the emails via checkboxes from the list and file them away. This is much faster than opening each and every email to file. Gmail has always had the ability to apply actions to multiple conversations, so it seems logical that AIB would, too.
    • My workaround suggestion will work on the computer. Again, I don't like the lack of native AIB functionality here, so my workaround is reasonable in cases where I have a lot of emails and would save me some time.

      To clarify my original suggestion: the easiest way is to create an AIB-enabled label, perhaps a new Context called "To File". Use Gmail's native ability to add a label in bulk from the Inbox, and add emails you want to file to that Context. Then, use AIB's interface to modify emails in bulk with dates, other labels, etc.
