Inbox label view for domain specific new emails

Requirement: To view only new emails in the inbox from a certain domain eg. *@company1.com or *@company2.com

How can I construct this view in Active inbox so I can see just these emails from just company1.com or just company 2.com?

I know I can auto label as they come in but not sure how to best construct this view before I start classifying as AIB Tasks?

Thanks,

Ben

  • Hello Ben

This isn't a feature that's available on ActiveInbox. I know you've mentioned in your email about using filters, but they wouldn't necessarily give you exactly what you need. You could filter all emails out of the inbox except the ones from that domain.

I've changed this thread to a suggestion. Can you give a fuller scenario of your workflow and what you're trying to achieve (and why!).

  • Hi Lisa,

My suggestion would be to take the categorisation of emails that AIB does outside of AIB Tasks and apply this to the Inbox also for easier processing of new emails that come in. The AIB view of categorising tasks above the Inbox is powerful for simplifying your email, it would be even more powerful if you could apply this to your Inbox emails that need processing also.

The scenario is where you receive a very high volume of emails daily, 2-300 for example to multiple email addresses/email accounts, combined into the one gmail inbox.

Processing of such a high volume of emails to manage with the wisdom of AIB actually requires a level of automation and categorisation to be able to process in the spirit of GTD.

Automation can come in the form of pre-defined labels that filter emails of certain types/domains ads they come in but the categorisation is important also. (I'm sure more AI can come)

The categorisation can be achieved by putting in manual search in the gmail inbox on emails to a specific address, of type unread /unprocessed by AIB.

However it would be much better if the AIB categorisation vie wcould be applied to the inbox view, based on the automated filtering of emial types/categories that gmail allows you to pre-define.

    Thanks,

    Ben
