I’m frustrated

Missing labels at top of email messages

I'm a new user to ActiveInbox. I am using Gmail on Chrome 8.0.552.215. When I am in a message, I do not see the quick label buttons at the top of the message. It was there a day ago but not now. ActiveInbox is still on my side window but the label buttons are not visible. I have all the features turned on in the preferences. Any thoughts?

  • I’m frustrated
    ActiveInbox 4.0.3.1
    Firefox 8.0

In the HAB the Labels are no longer present. Projects button is there.

  • I’m annoyed and cranky
I am tired of things going wrong at the end of the night when I am tired, trying to finish things and then notice something is broken. I keep working and more things disappear. You guys do a great job of responding to us, but it feels like I am using beta software and it would be nice to use something and know that it isn't a giant experiment and that it won't break down for awhile. Trying to keep this working and up to date, but being at the mercy of Gmail seems like a losing proposition. It seems like it would almost be better to use something that Google actually recommends. Maybe I should be writing this stuff during the day when I am not so annoyed I want put a deer slug through my computer.

  • Hello Rick

Thanks for your post. We release well tested software and are past the beta days although I understand it's frustrating for users when things go wrong. Working on something dynamic and constantly evolving such as Gmail means we have to move when they do.

We obviously to prefer to change things when we're ready to cause least disruption but this week Andy's hand was forced due to Gmail changing which breaks our current version and which forced a rush to release a fix.

The new compose option was news to everyone, we didn't know it was coming and Andy is committed (and works ridiculously long hours regularly 'til 2 or 3am and when it's necessary all nighters) to getting everything back up and running as quickly as is humanly possible.

As things in the software world no longer sits still and people's expectations are ever increasing, we/Andy wants to be at the front of making things work in a better way for our users. There is always a new way of doing things or new people wanting to make their mark and we want to be in front of those people so that our users can honestly say that they use us because we're the best.

Andy isn't the sort to design something and be happy to let us lag behind. Our Plus users deserve to be given cutting edge software and we're not the sort of company to get someone to upgrade and then just sit back. Everything is re-invested to making ActiveInbox a better product, with better features which is what we're asked for.

We thrive on all feedback, even when it's not saying we're great because if we don't listen to our users then we're nothing - and nothing isn't an option for us.

We've got amazing things coming up for ActiveInbox and hopefully you'll see it through and decide that it's worth it.
