  • I'm just curious why people use multiple statuses in the first place. I figure something either is an action or it isn't. Except that "Waiting On" reflects an action where you're not completely responsible for the next step. Could you share? Thanks.

  • Wow, that is alot... but it makes sense for most of them ;) The idea is if we put something with a status of action... i.e. we need to do something still... but at the same time you are waiting on information for another task which is also within the same email or thread... I often put action and waiting on for an email... but I also usually only put action if I also have added a task...

More than those however and I am not too sure which ones of yours tim you would put all at the same time.

My suggestion is to put the email in each section in the radar that counts... if it is in the action section, then put action... if it is in the waiting on section, put waiting on... the other statuses don't matter in their respective sections. In the today section and sections like it however, it would be nice to see if you have more than one status.

My suggestion would be, if there is more than one status tag, to implement a thinner second line to indicate statuses for each email...

This way we can have multiple statuses and it will look nice... a few of my emails that have waiting on and action on them show waiting on for one email and action for another depending upon which tag I clicked first (it seems)...
