  • Hello,

What was it from the video that you couldn't figure out? The video should be able to show you how to perform this.

  • Hello Chris,

It does not show how to use it. When i open up Xpand on my MPC studio, The presets dont show up so i can auto select with the MPC software. In Hybrid i can autoselect presets.

  • Hi,

The presets for Xpand!2 should show up if it's installed correctly. Sometimes though it's a matter of just reinstalling the plugin if you have recently updated the MPC software. Here's a few things you can try:

    - Reinstall plugins as admin
    - Run MPC as admin
    - Make sure your plugins are fully updated (demo versions may have limited access and won't allow MPC to find preset data)
    - Organize your plugins to a common, internal drive if they are not already
    - Repair Disk Permissions and reinstall plugins (for Mac)

I have seen the repair disk permissions fix this in the past if you are on a mac, so certainly try that if you can. This would actually be automatic on El Capitan.

Basically what's happening is the plugin needs to "beam" it's presets out to the software, which then ends up in the control of the hardware, though sometimes the communication is just interrupted or incomplete between the software. The AIR and Sonivox plugins are all designed to do this but other third-party plugins may not. It depends on how the plugin was developed and sometimes they just don't communicate with the same language. This is the same reason the plugin presets may not appear in another DAW's Plugin interface window, or they'll only show the "Default" or "Initialize" patch.

Try some of the steps I listed above and let me know how it goes!
