  • Hi Jason,

    Thanks for posting.

Keep in mind that Hybrid 3 is not a standalone program, so you will need to open the software within a DAW, such as Ableton or Pro Tools, in order to use it.
Check out this helpful guide below that will walk you through how to scan and load your plugins within the included Ableton Live Lite software:

  • Thank you,
    I now have Ableton,
I've got as far as setting trhe Mackie controls,
but now I'm lost again, the keyboard still isn't making any sounds at all yet.

it tells you to exit preferences, and then goes on to jibberish about control assignments?,
I don't understand any of that.
I can't believe how hard and stupid they've made this keyboard to set up.
    it really is a joke.
right now the instructions might as well be in Egyptian hieroglyphics.
I get so far, and come to a dead end, find a way around it and I find another dead end, and so on,
    the problems seem endless,
with every step, I feel that I'm more closer to putting it back in the box,
than I am to getting it to work.

a few more days at this and I'll change the question to,
How do you Un-register it so you can sell it?

  • Where exactly are you getting stuck in the section about control assignments? Those steps will help to ensure you will be able to use the transport buttons on your controller, and that these buttons will react within the software as well.

  • Thank you for your patience, but I'm still in blind rant mode at the Mo,
I'm stuck on the part where I thought this was a plug and play keyboard, and then later found out that I need PC software to make it work that's also very difficult to set up,
I started off trying to find out why Hybrid wan't launching,
that is now a far off in the distance problem as I'm now stuck on trying figure out how to use ableton, which is yet another program I only learned about last night, thanks to your good self.
to say this is frustrating, and to say I'm in way over my head, is an understatement,
I'm 47 and last had a keyboard in the 90s,
and I'm doing for my young sons, to give them a head start with music.
so this is like rocket science to me.
I'm confused on what to do after the Mackie thingy.
I will look into what ever the "transport buttons" mean and see where that gets me.
maybe I should have a drink tonight and watch some more youtube videos.
    and try again tomorrow.

  • Don't worry, I'm, sure I'll figure it out soon,
I've been looking at swapping for Novation, but I'm noticing
that too uses Ableton, so one way or another I have to get my head around it,
give me a few more days, and I'll see where I get.
