Ignite won't record

When I try to push the record button in he Ignite software, while having an Akai MIDI controller connected, it flashes red for a few parts of a second, and then does nothing. Any idea what the problem might be?

  • Hello Endre,

Thanks for posting. I'd like to help. The Ignite's master tempo can be used to control certain Akai Professional keyboard controllers. Make sure yours is supported:

Note: The keyboard controller's MIDI Clock must be set to External in order to
    synchronize with Ignite's tempo.

    Akai Professional MAX25, MAX49, MPK25, or MPK49:
    • The arpeggiator and sequencer will synchronize with Ignite during recording.
    • When the arpeggiator or sequencer are activated, MIDI input will work only during
    recording.
    • Ignite's tempo can be changed only when it is not recording.

    Thank you for replying.

I should probably have elaborated it a bit more. I use the Akai MPK mini controller, and it's set to preset 1 as instructed. I recently installed the Ignite software on this PC, and it worked in the beginning, but then the problems started arising. I also have Ignite installed on my Mac, but there it runs without a problem.

The two problems I've discovered is firstly the one mentioned in the first post, I'm unable to initiate a recording. The second is that I'm unable to change the volume on the "loudout" instrument (Grand Piano) when I start a new session. If I create a new instrument, e.g. Ambient Piano, I'm able to change this volume. I'm unsure if the two problems are connected, but they appeared simultaneously.

I've already tried re-dowloading the software from the e-mail link, as well as reset the midi-controller back to factory settings, as well as trying to re-upload Preset 1 from the midi editor software.

Edit: I'm unsure if this is relevant, but even when a midi controller is not connected, I'm unable to press record, or change volume on loadout instrument.
