Installation issue for ALL airmusic plugins (riser, loom, hybrid 3 etc)

Hi

I can ́t install any of my airmusic plugins. Setup raises the following issue: "error 1935 - an error occured..." and refers to "Microsoft.VC80". This appears to relate to the VC++ redistributable.

The problem is that Microsoft released a more recent version (2017) and doesn ́t allow you to downgrade (to 2015). The new version is 100% backwards compatible. and developers are supposed to check the version and allow any higher versions. This doesn ́t appear to be the case for Airmusic plugins however.

A potential workaround is to de-install the more recent VC++ version, install the airmusic plugins, and then once again re-install the most recent VC++ redist. I have not tried this myself though as it ́s just too much of a hassle.

That means I can ́t currently install any of my 10+ plugins from Airmusic, and not open any of my existing projects with airmusic plugins in them.

  • This is what happens if you install the 2015 redist when 2017 is already installed:

Below you ́ll find a snippet of the log file. This is for Loom2 but the problem is the same:

  • Hi to all,

I have the same problem on my new PC configuration (AMD Ryzen 2600, MSI m-board, 16gb memory) with fresh install of Windows 10 64 bit. All 5 of my AIR plugins worked fine on my old Win 7 64 bit platform, without any installation problems.
However, this time all installations end with error message connected to VC++ 2005 package (not 2015):

I downloaded MS VC++ 2005 runtime redistributable package (64 bit) and installed it without any problems, along other, never versions - they all sit happy along each other, as you can see from this picture:

So, this is not Microsoft problem - but problem with all AIR installers. Infact, 2 problems:
    1. As Joakim stated somewhere else, AIR installers do not check existence of newer installed versions of MS VC++ runtime redistributable packages. Which is case of lousy programming.
    2. From first picture it looks like AIR installer correctly recognize system (amd64), but then tries to install wrong version (32 bit) of MS VC++ runtime package. That's my hunch, but maybe I'm wrong.

Sadly, I like AIR plugins, but those installers are just not good...there is so many problems with them, and that Pace junk. Pardon me ;)

  • I am running Windows 10 1803 (64-bit) fully patched through Dec 2018, and just installed AIR Loom and Riser without any issue or error messages. I have VC++ 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013, & 2017 installed.

I used the installers that I downloaded a couple of years ago, and had previously installed on two Win 10 machines.

Have you ever been able to run these installers? Where did you get the installers from and what is the file name and version?

Unless this is an isolated conflict with certain machines, I would have to guess that the installer may have been updated incorrectly?

  • Yeah, I ran those installers on older PC (Win 7, 64 bit) without problems.
On new one I tried several other things: Run as administrator, run in Win 7 compatibility mode, deinstalling last VC++ 64 bit package version - but with no success. I got installers from Plugin Boutique, or directly from AIR site (tried both).

So, yes, it might be platform related installer problem: AMD Ryzen + Win 10.
Will try with older installers - when I find them :)

Any update to this issue from AIR? I have do a clean install of windows. The Air plugins are the only ones I have an issue with. I have googled and tried all the Microsoft related fixes to error 1935 but no good.

  • Hi guys, I'm also frustrated by this issue as well. However, I found a workaround to get the plugins to work. I created an account just to share it with you.

Firstly, just run the installer as usual until it reaches the C++ and the error 1935 occurs. Then just let it be for now.

Then, check your plugins folder. The .dll file should be there. The contents should also be there at your programs folder where it should be installed. All you need to do now is copy both the "Air Music" folder and the plugin .dll file to a safe place like your desktop.

Finally, let the installer continue and delete everything after it comes out with "installation failed" notification. Just close it and put the copy of "Air Music" folder and .dll file at your desktop to where it was.

The plugin should work normally but it won't show up in you installed program list. I hope there will be a real fix from Air guys.

    Hope this helps.

    same problem here:

error 1935 an error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC80.CRT,type="win32",version="8.0.50727.6195",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",processorArchitecture=amd64"'. Please refer to Help and Support for more information

After manually copying the .dll files as Rinaldy Fakhrana suggested I get an iLok error:

The software required to validate the license for this product is not running. Please reinstall the product or download and run the iLok License Manager installer here: http://www.ilok.com

down to the second fresh windows 10 install already. Going crazy =//

  • Bump!

Thanks for the workaround Rinaldy. It’s minblowing that Air still hasn’t addressed this issue. It shouldn’t take long o recompile those installers with updated VC runtimes.

Plugins are still unusable after 5 months and I now consider all Air plugins abandonware.

Bumping this as well - my plugins (Hybrid, Vacuum, and Riser) all worked before I was forced to reinstall windows, and now I get the same constant errors when trying to reinstall any of these products.

Has there been any update on this issue whatsoever?

  • For some unexplainable reason everything installed just fine yesterday when I wanted to show a friend the installation problem. Can anyone else confirm installation of the C++2005 distributable doesn't give problems anymore?
Only thing I did differently this time was I started out with installing the AIR DB-33 plugin as the first one...

  • The problem is not solved even if i tried to install older vesions of netframework on win 10. Airmusic tech MUST find a solution ASAP. Projects with air instruments and fx are useless which means to cost smth. This is clearly a violation to consumer rights. Nothing has come up since this is first reported...

  • Ok, but still I find it quite intresting that I first had this problem, and now all of a suddon installation díd work, and I wonder if this could be a clue to a workaround, since AIR itself clearly doesn't plan on providing any support in this issue...

  • Hi!
i found a solution that worked for me:

    "Philip Segerfast:

    Hey, guys!
I know this is a quite old post, but if someone else is getting this problem, it could be that you have to enable your ethernet-jack if its disabled...
It sounds weird, but it worked for me. (I asked the support)

    "Windows 10:
Settings -> Network and Internet -> Ethernet (on the left) -> Change Adapter Options
Look at “Ethernet" or “Local Area Connection” if it is Disabled, right-click and Enable it. It should then show the name of your network, or Cable Unplugged.

You can also try enabling Wifi or Bluetooth if available on that same "Change Adapter Options" screen."

    Hope it helped somebody!"
