  • Hi Luigi,

Thanks for posting. Can you please provide me with your full system specs? Does this happen with any of your other plugins, both AIR and non-AIR? Have you tried this in another DAW? What are you using for a MIDI controller?

  • Hi Bill,
    Here we are:
Mac pro model 5.1 year 2012 ...12 cores, 32 GB RAM, GPU NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 2048 MB
    OSX version: 10.9.5
AudioCard used: Connected via firewire Allen&Heat ZED R16 running @48 kHz/24bit with last firmware and drivers
    Sequencer: Cubase pro v 8.5.20 running@64bit
Midi: I used the USB VIRUS TI (with last updated drivers) and even a keyboard with old analog 5 pin midi port (Waldorf Q+) connected in a USB motu midi express 128 (with last updated drivers).
    MINIGRAND version: 1.2.7

    I have some other infos...
this happens even in Logic Pro X v 10.2.2 and in Renoise 3.1 (both AU and VST).
I will say that is not a midi issue, the midi signal (note on -off) is ok, u can see the key pressed in the Minigrand GUI...and volume tracks is ok.
For a moment iv installed from my AIEP3 Complete the following instrument:
Hybrid, Loom, Xpand2, DB33, The riser, Transfuser, Vacuum pro, Velvet, Srike and Minigrand in add also the and the fx suite. The issue is only on the mini grand!

Iv tried to delete the mini grand.big file and reinstall...delete the preferences...nothing helps

  • I’m frustrated
I have the same problem in Logic Pro X v10.2.4. Mini Grand loads up just fine but produces no sound. It does receive MIDI since I can see the keys being pressed in the UI. Is it possible to get a refund if this issue doesn't get sorted out? Obviously, without sound the plugin is of no use to me.

  • I’m sad
also have this problem, vst and au.
    reaper, logic x, ableton, renoise
    osx 10.10
no problem in pro tools still works

can see virtual keys being pressed down but no sound.
using a yamaha motif as a midi controller, but it also happens with midi clip input, or keyboard input in renoise.

    as an aside.
I attempted to move the ".big" sample file to a new location. MiniGrand software asks to browse to the location of the sample file at which point the sound WILL work. however if i re-instantiate the plugin or reload the daw, it goes back to no sound unless i move the sample file again.

  • I've checked the same installer on OSX 10.9 with no issues, and it also works fine with windows 10. Possibly an issue related to 10.10 Yosemite?

Please advise! I use Yosemite on two production machines and don't plan on upgrading anytime soon. Would love to use it.

  • It looks like you may be hitting the OSX VST/AU issue with Mini Grand 1.2.7
From what I can tell it is an issue with DAWs other than Pro Tools.

I had this problem when installing Mini Grand as part of AIEP Complete package on OS 10.12 with Logic Pro X and Reason 9.5

See this thread about an update from 1.2.7 to 1.2.10 for OSX in VST/AU.

    http://community.airmusictech.com/air...

Once you install Mini Grand 1.2.10, you will need to move a few files around. When you run the 1.2.10 Mac update it drops certain folders in /Applications/AIR Music Technology instead of their respective folders:

    For Mini Grand:
    1) Move 'Presets' into 'Mini Grand'
    2) Move 'Midi Assignments' into 'Mini Grand'

Once I upgraded to Mini Grand 1.2.10 and moved the folders into the right places on OS X I was golden.

Disclaimer/Please note -- I do not know if there are any issues related to Pro Tools and this specific update. I do not use Pro Tools.

    I hope this helps.

  • I’m annoyed
I'm having this exact problem on Mac OS X 10.12.6, and none of the suggestions in here do anything. By moving the .big file and finding it again I can get it to work exactly once. Everything used to work fine but without specific actionable instructions to delete all traces of AIR (again, none of the instructions posted by employees on this platform made any difference) I can't really do a clean install.

Going to call support but from the number of posts on this same issue I've seen on this across different forums Customer Service really should put out something on here that's more specific than "call support." I'm sure they know how to fix this, might as well put out some instructions on it.
    • To follow up, I called Rich at support, and they were pretty much as stumped as me.

The winning combination we landed on together was:

      1. Delete .plist files for my DAWs, the relevant AIR products, etc
      2. Run the install for the Mini Grand Update file again

Got Structure 2 working a similar way (it could never scan or recognize samples, would just keep showing that browser window that says Choose folder, Spotlight search, recursive search etc). I didn't reinstall the full library, I just deleted plist files for both my DAW and the AIR product and then ran the Structure update.

Your mileage may vary, we couldn't really think of a logical reason why this should work but it did. I'm not going to uninstall and reinstall again to figure out or test why as it's almost been more trouble than Structure is worth at this point :)

The update installers drop some files in the wrong locations but whatever, it finally works.
