No sound when using Xpand2! with imported midi tracks
Using Xpand2! in my DAW (Mixcraft) -- works great with my midi controller. But when I import midi tracks and load Xpand2 as the vi, I don't get any sound. I can hear the Xpand sounds when I hit a key on my controller, and I can add a new midi track and record sounds, but Xpand sounds are generated from the imported midi track.. Other VIs in my library work just fine on the midi tracks, just not Xpand2. Any ideas? Thanks!

SORRY- There's a typo in my original post. This is what it should read:
"but Xpand sounds are NOT generated from the imported midi track." -

Hey Tina,
Thanks for posting!
Sorry to hear that you are having trouble with that. When exporting the MIDI Track did you use "Save as MIDI File"? Xpand will communicate with .mid files only so we want to verify that this file is a standard MIDI format.
If this is the case, it's possible that your MIDI file is sending on a different MIDI channel. Xpand only receives on MIDI channels 1-4. You can adjust this by selecting all the notes in a MIDI clip and right-clicking on a single note. Select Properties. Change the MIDI Channel to 1 and click OK. Repeat this process for the other tracks.
Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions. -

sometimes a midi file can include program changes (bank en prgs).
I can remember that this has given me issues in the past
I use ableton and you can checked this by doubleclicking on the midi clip in session. You should set all 3 to --- -

Thanks for the quick responses. Yes, it's definitely in midi format - other VI's work fine. But I did not think about the channels or bank encoding. Will check that out! Hopefully it is something simple like that.
Thanks again!
