Strike 2 using selfmade drum samples

Hi all,
I have real trouble implementing own samples into Strike 2.07.
While using Reaper 5.70 (I have the same trouble with other applications tested with strike 2), the output sounds real bad, not a bit like a drum. The same sample works fine in all other apps I'm using and is in 24 bit 96 kHz. It makes no difference changing the file format of the sample (tested AIFF and WAV).
UnfortunatelyI found nothing about sample limitations in Strike 2 manual except using AIFF or WAV format. Is there any limitation in Strike?
There are not so much possibilities doing something wrong, so what's my mistake here?
