Xpand2 - pitch bend of M-Audio Oxygen not working

Hello, I don't know why pitch bend wheel in XPand2 is not working. I'm using Reaper on Windows10 and M-Audio Oxygen 49 IV. It looks like the pitch bend wheel is "visible" by Xpand2 because I can assign it to other functions (fine tune for example) but pitch bend itself is not working. I was trying all solutions which came to my mind but nothing helped. Modulation wheel is working correctly. I would be thankful for some advices. Kind Regards, Matt.

  • Hello,

Thanks for posting. Sorry you're having issues with your plugin.

Does this occur in any other DAWs?

Let's have you run a test to see if your controller is sending MIDI data properly.

    MIDI-OX - PC - http://www.midiox.com/

In addition to the test below using MIDI-OX, you can also use Send SX (Windows). This program will let you know if and what MIDI information the controller is sending.

**Before you run MIDI-OX connect the MIDI Controller and power on.

    1. Download and install MIDI-OX.
    2. Run the MIDI OX application.
    3. Select the Options menu and select MIDI Devices. Make sure to select MIDI inputs and MIDI Outputs for the MIDI controller, in this case, the USB Audio Device and click OK.
    4. Select the View menu and select Input Monitor. The field type, Data1, contains the CC information. Test the functions of your controller in the monitor.

    MIDI Monitor - Mac OS X - http://www.snoize.com/MIDIMonitor/

What is it MIDI Monitor? MIDI Monitor is a free utility for Mac OS X which displays MIDI signals in a variety of formats. It can watch both incoming and outgoing MIDI streams and can filter them by message type and channel. Musicians will find it handy for tracking down confusing MIDI problems. Programmers can use it to test MIDI drivers and applications. MIDI Monitor is free to download and use.

    1. Download, and Install MIDI Monitor.
    2. Open MIDI Monitor.
    3. Click on the Sources tab to view MIDI devices. Confirm that your USB/MIDI device is listed.
    4. Once you confirm your MIDI device is connected and listed. Play any key(s) on your keyboard/controller to confirm each button or key is sending data to your computer. If your device is working you will see a message with data like below. The device is not sending data you may have a hardware issue.

Try this out and let me know how it goes!

  • Hello,
have the same issue with an Akai Advanced 49 keyboard with Reaper 5.941 and Xpand2. Modulation wheel works, but not the Pitch Bend.
Checked with JS:Midi Logger inside Reaper and it sends correct Midi signals (EF = Pitch Bend, BF=Mod Wheel).
If I open Studio One instead it works at once!

When I use another VST Plugin like Hybrid or Look or Vacuum Pro the pitch bend works with Reaper.

Seems to have something to do with Xpand2 plugin. Pls. can you check out and fix this?

    Thank you!
