Akai Mpx8: fixed velocity feature

Hi, I'm very interested about Akai Mpx8. It can do all the things that I need. There's only one thing that makes me a bit unsatisfied: the impossibility of settings a fixed velocity in order to play sample at the same volume indipendent from the pressure of a pad.

I've searched online if there's an update with last firmware, but I didn't find nothing. However, every post that I found is dated (4-5 years ago), so I hope that an update in the latest version has been inserted.

So, there's a way now in 2019 in order to play sample at the same volume indipendent from the pressure of a pad? Many people need this feature

  • Hey Davide,

    Thanks for posting!

The MPX8 does not have an adjustable sensitivity setting for the pad velocity. If you are using the MPX8 to trigger an external device via the MIDI Out port, you may be able to set the velocity level on the receiving end. This will depend on what software or sound module you are using, though.

Do you use the MPX8 with software or mainly as a standalone device?
