Akai VIP software and cubase pro 10

Please advise, I would like to know how I can scan Steinberg Halion Sonic 5 VST into VIP 3 software?
Also, why doesn't VIP recognise Cubase Pro 10 stock instruments?

Thank you for your consideration

  • Hey Leon,

    Thanks for posting!

VIP does not support VST3 plugins. If you are attempting to load Halion make sure that you are scanning for the VST2 (PC) or AU (Mac) version. Those plugin directory locations are displayed as:

    PC:
    C:\Program Files\Steinberg\VSTPlugins

    Mac:

    ~Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components

This tutorial covers scanning and managing plugins in VIP:

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT MANAGING PLUGINS AND PRESETS INSIDE VIP

In regards to Cubase, most stock instruments in a DAW will not operate as a standalone program. If the Cubase presets have an independent VST or AU version then you would be able to load them into VIP.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any questions.
