I’m frustrated

Big Bang Doesn't Install Properly. . .and More

I have downloaded the Big Bang Cinematic Percussion and Big Bang Drums plug-ins several times and they aren't showing up anywhere. After downloading them I open the folders and 'Extract All' to a separate folder that I created on my desktop. I then open the extracted files from my desktop and click on 'Run'. When prompted to choose a folder for the VST Plug-Ins I create new ones for each plug-in. I then follow the instructions to get started in MPD Essentials and scan for the Big Bang plug-ins in the 'Preferences' menu. I get a Big Bang Drums window to enter the authorization code, but it disappears when I try to maximize Internet Explorer to retrieve the code. When I attempt to open the plug-ins from the drop-down on the home screen they aren't there. The 'Elements of House/Dance/Techno' are all there, but the Big Bang plug-ins are nowhere to be found. They don't show up in my DAW (Cakewalk) either. After downloading the items in question the window says there should be desktop icons, but there aren't any.

Additionally, I do have a desktop icon for the Big Bang Authorizer but it only opened once and now won't open.

I did get the authorization window for Big Bang Percussion which is saved in my iLok account, but of course it hasn't done me much good.

I originally purchased this product to control Addictive Drums. It works decently as a stand-alone, but is useless when trying to use it with my DAW.

Finally, are there any instructions on how to actually use this equipment? So far I've only found some spotty information and if I can actually get up and running it would be great to know how to use it.

Any help would be great as I'm on the verge of returning this product. Thanks.

  • Hey Richard,

    Thanks for posting!

Sorry to hear that you are having trouble with that. I recommend installing Big Bang again to its default folder. Customizing folders and installation locations can cause navigational errors down the line. The default pathway for SONiVOX plugins is:

    C:/Program Files (x86)/SONiVOX/VST/SONiVOX

Once you have installed the plugin to this location, you need to redeem and activate the license in your iLok account. Open the iLok application on your desktop. From your description it sounds like you already redeemed the license and only need to activate it for use on your computer. To do this, right-click on Big Bang under All Licenses and select Activate. If you need additional assistance, refer to this tutorial:

How To Redeem an iLok Activation Code

After authorizing the software, open MPC Essentials and scan the directory provided above. The scan will complete and Big Bang should now be available in your Plugin Browser.

Try this and let me know if you have any trouble!
