Can MPC live be Re-registered under a new account?

Can I use a MPC live that has already been used under another account by an owner who is selling it to me? I want to know if the MPC live can be re-registered under my account...or is that not an option?...

  • Hey David,

    Thanks for posting!

As GW1 explained, you can re-register your MPC Live and receive access to all the included software and authorization codes. All that is needed to register is an Akai account and the serial number of your hardware.

Let us know if you have any question!

    Thanks for your help, GW1!

  • Hi
Having bought a second-hand MPC Live, I've registered it in my account then could download the MPC Software 2.0 (serial number was granted) but have no serial numbers to obtain essential plugins with full license...
Then, checking both MPC software and MPC Live, I realized some plugins were already installed.
Still, shouldn't I be entitled to authorization serials in case I need it in the future (format or whatever)?
    Thanks
    Fred

    • Thanks for your time and dedication Monotremata!
By "essentials" I meant Hybrid or TubeSynth or SONIVOX drums. When I took a look at my registration page, I dl'd those "essential-labelled" items, *and* got some authorizers applets waiting for some serials to complete the install.
As I said there's no other apparent serial number in my registration page than MPC Software and (Windows-only) Loom & Drum Sessions #. I'm a mac-user. So, I'm quite puzzled for I discovered some plugins already installed (by the former user I guess) in both Software and MPC live. Without any doubts something has been lost in translation for my lazy-ass intellect...
    • Ahh yeah the Sonivox stuff requires an iLok account so you have to use the 'Get me a serial' button for that one. Hybrid and TubeSynth are part of the MPC Software now so it should be on both the Live and on your Mac already. You can buy separate versions of those synths so its kind of confusing but they were put in the MPC at some point in one of the updates so those are already there.

I don't know how the Sonivox stuff sounds, I didnt install it, but you should also have a big 'MPC Legacy Content' pack you can download that has all of the drums that came with the previous MPCs and a whole bunch more without any serial number business.

  • Waiting for the former buyer to transfer some licenses. And still exploring myself the software and hardware depths before issuing my next angry airhead customer statement ;)
