Can Max49 displays on the LCD, names of the plugin parameter being modified?

The Max49 has a good LCD but it does not display the name of the plugin parameter modified on the DAW. Is-it possible to do that? If it is not the case, it would a huge improvement on the workflow.

Thanks,

Christophe

  • Hello Christophe,

The MAX49 does not have the ability to display the plugin parameter being modified. It's a great idea, though!

As far as it being possible... The only time I've seen text or advanced communication like that between a controller and DAW were with the specialized mix control products (Mackie Control, Control24, etc...). Entirely new formats (Mackie Control, HUI) were developed specifically for these implementations. I'm not sure that a workaround with the standard MIDI protocol would make this possible.

Regardless if it's possible or not, that's a great suggestion to submit as a feature request. I'd be happy to forward that along for you!

  • Thanks for you answer. There are some controllers out there that are able to display this type of information (Novation impulse, Novation SL). However I do not know if they use a specific protocol for achieving that.

I let you add this as feature request.
