clock synchronization

Hi,
My setup:
PC, VIP, VSTi version of the plug-ins.
Question (I can not solve this problem)
How to sync Akai Profes. 61 with external devices?
For example, how to set the Akai 61 (software VIP) to the clock control from the Arturia Beat Step Pro ?

please help me

regards,
Leszek

    Hi,

    Thanks for posting!

When in use with VIP, the Advance would need to receive a clock signal via USB (i.e a DAW or other source).

So, if you can get a MIDI Clock signal out of the Arturia and into the Advance MIDI In port, you could use a software like this one to route the signal back out to the Advance. It's extremely easy to set up, too. Set the Input source to Advance USB Port 2, Output Port to Advance USB Port 1, and then click the big red button to start the clock.

I actually ran a quick test with that on my end and it worked really well! Let me know if you have any questions about setting it up!

  • Hi,
And if you can control the clock directly from the Arturia Beat Step Pro Synth or other? (Eg. Bass ststion II)?

  • Hi,
I have purchased the app and Akai Professor 61. My question is about the outputs of midi keyboard. Can I connect a midi cable two devices. Whether the Akai must be master?. Can also be the Slave. How to set these parameters in the VIP?
I bought the latest software Artyria V. When will it be possible to control the parameters of this program?

    Hi,

VIP does not have a clock source or tempo settings. The Advance itself would be the only part that requires a clock (i.e arpeggiator, note repeat). So, you're syncing the Advance with your Beat Step Pro, not VIP.

Again, here's what you can do so that the Advance can follow the clock from the beat step:

    - Connect the Beat Step MIDI Out to the MIDI In on the Advance. Ensure that the Beat Step is sending MIDI Clock out this port

    - Go into the Advance GLOBAL menu, and set the clock source to EXTERNAL

    - In the app, find MIDI Output Port 1 and set this to "Advance USB Port 1"

    - Find the MIDI Input Port + Key Setup and set this to "Advance MIDI Port 2"

    - Press the big button at the top to start receiving/sending clock:

Now, the Advance will follow the clock from the Beat Step Pro.

    I hope this helps!

  • Hi,
Thank you very much for the reply.
    Please reply to two questions:
When will map to the Arturia V?
Why Synthmaster 2.8 (after changing the preset) VIP software causes an error and the suspension of the VIP application ?

We are aware of both of these issues. Updates and ETAs will not be posted here on the forum, though I am happy to notify the relevant threads once an update has been released.
