Does Akai Professional and Propellerhead have beef or something?

I'm asking because MPC 2.3 Software and Reason 10 could compliment each other a lot smoother if both developers would collaborate on making it happen. A lot of us MPC users are also Reason users. And what's up with VIP not having any templates for Reason??? C'mon guys you're sleeping on a massive giant. I'm just saying though...

Ableton is the Golden child right now in the software DAW union Both FL Studio and Reason 10 could use some love. The banging MPC Drums with the software synth from Propellerheads would be the perfect world for me!

  • Hey everybody,

    Thanks for posting!

If you're looking for beef, you've reached the organic, non-GMO, MIDI to table farmstand. Many Akai Pro products come with Reason 10 Lite and the Fire is designed completely for FL Studio. Ableton is great but we're all friends in the end.

The MPC Software can be opened as a VST plugin in Reason - are you having any trouble using it?

It is true that the Advance series does not have a Reason preset - I'm guessing this is because it was released before Reason supported VSTs so back then there wouldn't have been a way to use VIP in Reason. I think that would be a nice little update to the Advance series so please use the feedback menu in VIP to suggest this to our development team and I will do the same! In the meantime, you can still absolutely use one of the user preset slots on the Advance to create your own preset for Reason.

Let me know if you have any questions!

  • I'm having a little trouble as far as getting my midi notes to record from the MPC Live when I use it as a plugin in Reason 10. I can trigger the notes in the plugin from the MPC Live but it doesn't record the notes. That is as far as I can get. Also I tried it the way the Akai web site says to do it but it's not a happy approach for me because it Marries me to that Drum kit or specific sound.
