EWI 5000 pitch bend and glide plate disabling

I have a EWI 5000 that I don't use the pitch bend plates or glide strip when I play. I 'd like to get them to stay off but, every time I turn the unit off and then on, the settings constantly come on even when they are deactivated through the unit or the editor. Any way to disable them and save the off settings? Thanks jim

  • Hey Jim,

    Thanks for posting!

You should be able to disable the Pitch Bend and Glide features from the EWI Editor. When editing presets for standalone, make sure that you use the Synth settings tab. If you are still having issues, try assigning the controls to an unidentified
MIDI CC. Standardized MIDI protocol typically reserves MIDI CCs 20-30 for NRPN (Non-registered Parameter Numbers) values, meaning that the pitch bend and glide controls will trigger a MIDI CC that does not correspond to any function.

Try this and let me know how it goes!

  • Hi Eliza, Sorry I been away for awhile and just saw your reply. I'm still not getting the glide and pitch bend plates to deactivate. I went to the editor with the synth settings and assigned cc 21-24 to those parameters, They still reactivate after shutting down and turning back on. Anything else to try? Thanks for your response.
