I’m frustrated

FORCE - Cannot record into the Audio track

There is no way to turn recording into the an Audio track with latest 3.02 update.

I connect guitar exactly as it advertised on the AKAI channel, that was the feature bought me in at the first place.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=11YQK...

I connect guitar (or synth), arm track, turn on rec, focus on the track. I can hear the guitar just fine. But no matter how I try to turn it on (on track pad, or on launch on right), the recording never stars. I can record into Midi track just fine, but not the Audio.

Let me know if I am doing anything wrong or it is not supported for any reason.

TNX!
Sam

You have to launch the clip you want to record into in order to start recording- your doing this?

Plug in, select track, arm track, press a clip. You can change the count in length in settings

  • Hey Sam,

    Thanks for posting!

As Jeff mentioned, there's a specific order of commands necessary to record audio directly into a Clip. When in Matrix mode, press the Launch button of the Scene you want to record to. You'll hear the Scene's audio start to playback. Tap the Record button and then the Track Assign button of your audio track to arm it for recording. When you are ready to start recording, press the clip and play! If needed, you can edit your performance later in Clip View.

Hope this helps! Let us know if you have any questions.

    Thanks for the help, Jeff!

  • Thank you for the replies Jeff and Eliza! I still hope it is a problem between my chair and Force, but cannot make it to work.

As you say I do Rec, arm track, scene and press clip. In any sequence it does not work for me for an Audio track. Regardless if project large or small and manipulations with clip length, loop or other parameters. It never turns red or starts recording.

Same feature/flow works just fine with MIDI track. Works solid by the book (so I understand how it should be working for Audio, if it works the same).

I also checked if see any "no memory/space" message or issues. Seems not. I tried recording thru Sampler. Works fine and I was able to assign same input recording onto a pad and hear it recorded on the same project. I try large project or an empty project load after reboot. Same no luck.

I know it is hard to believe such local issue can affect just my device, but this seems to be the case if everyone can, but not working for me for some weird reason.

Appreciate any advice on this or I need to bring it back to store I guess. Maybe I just got some testing unit or something, bought it first day available in store (more than 45 days though). I also had USB MIDI to work between Moog and Force, that's sad to be impossible. Also have a ground noise when touch encoders.

    TNX!
    Sam.

Bought mine first day out also... and yes, I also believe we ALL got testing units!
