Garageband won't allow mpc essentials to be used as a plugin?
I have been using mpc essentials as a standalone for 7 months and i am now trying to use it as a plugin in garageband but garageband prevents me from using it and gives me this window. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Hi, I found this worked for me.
The problem is not with the plugin, but garage band 10, Apple has issued a statement here https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT203837 .....(BOO!)
Once you have authorised the MPC Essentials in standalone mode try the following steps:
1. Copy your "MPCEssentials.settings" file from your ~/Library/Application Support/MPC/MPCEssentials.settings
****note that you need to be able to view hidden files to find this. there is a youtube tutorial here to do so https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Rm04...****
2. Paste the MPCEssentials.settings into ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.garageband10/Data/Library/Application
Support/MPC
3. Launch Garage Band and fire up the Plugin. Hopes this helps, i've been working on this solution all day.

Hello Elijah,
Thanks for posting!
Try this:
1) In the Mac Finder, go to the "Go" menu at the top.
2) Hold the Option key on your Mac keyboard.
3) You'll see a "Library" option appear. Select that.
4) Navigate to Application Support > MPC
5) Drag all files in here to the trash (should be a settings file and maybe some crash logs)
6) Re-open GarageBand and unlock the MPC Essentials software as you normally would.
7) Close and re-open GarageBand to make sure it remains unlocked.
Let me know how it goes! -

I'm having the same issue only with the MPC Studio software. Every time I open the MPC inside Garageband I get the message about it needing to be unlocked. The MPC software is already unlocked when I open the MPC software standalone. I tried deleting the mpc settings file but that just made it where I had to unlock the MPC again and then I got the same message in Garageband when trying to use the MPC in it.

If you're on mac, open up the finder, click on go and then hold down the Alt+command key at the same time. Library will pop up in the options, click on that, then find the application support folder in your library and click on that. Scroll down to MPC and open that. MPC settings should be in there. I don't know of any "essential settings" but I dragged that into the application support for my DAW under MPC and it worked just fine after that.
the application support folder will depend on the DAW in question. -

Does anyone know how to deal with a similar problem in Windows 10? Until a few days ago the MPC Element 64 plugin was working perfectly OK in both Cubase and Reaper. This morning I started to get the 'not authorised' message in Reaper, but Cubase was OK. Obviously the stand alone was fine, so no authorisation dialogue when that is opened. So I reinstalled all the MPC stuff, and now, yep you've guessed it, the stand alone is still running as authorised but now neither Reaper nor Cubase can run a working version.
